Gameforge is a video game publisher and video game developer. It represents a group of companies that operates internationally and has its headquarters in Karlsruhe, Germany. It distributes roughly 20 games, translated into over 50 languages. Their portfolio contains client-based massively multiplayer online games (MMOGs) such as TERA, Metin2, Runes of Magic, and SOLO, as well as browser-based online games such as OGame, Gladiatus, BiteFight, and Ikariam. They also operate mobile games. Gameforge employs a staff of over 300 and was founded by its Chief Executive Officer Alexander Rösner and former CEO Klaas Kersting in 2003.

The Hauptfriedhof in Karlsruhe is one of the oldest German communal rural cemeteries. In 1871, the first plans to build a new burial ground outside the city center began. The cemetery was laid out in 1874 by Josef Durm in the Rintheim district, east of the actual city, after the inner-city Alter Friedhof Karlsruhe in the Oststadt had become too small. The main cemetery has grown from its original size of 15.3 hectares in 1873 to over 34 hectares. The graves of more than 32,000 deceased are currently in the cemetery.

Hagsfeld is a district in the north east of Karlsruhe, Germany. Hagsfeld borders the Stutensee district of Blankenloch in the north, Weingarten in the northeast and the Karlsruhe districts Grötzingen in the east, Durlach in the southeast, Rintheim in the south and Waldstadt in the west. The district is further divided into Alt-Hagsfeld and Westlicher Teil.

The European School, Karlsruhe, commonly known as ESK, is one of three European Schools in Germany and one of thirteen across the European Union (EU). Founded in 1962, the school prioritises, for enrolment purposes, the children of staff of the European Commission's Joint Research Centre for Nuclear Safety and Security based nearby. Children of non-EU staff may enrol provided there is capacity. ESK is an all-through school catering for nursery, primary and secondary pupils, culminating in the awarding of the European Baccalaureate as its secondary leaving qualification.

The Telecooperation Office (TECO) is a research group at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Karlsruhe, Germany. The research group is in the Institute of Telematics, and is attached to the Chair for Pervasive Computing Systems, currently held by Michael Beigl.

Innenstadt-Ost is a district in the eastern center of Karlsruhe, Germany. The district, along with Innenstadt-West, forms the city center. Innenstadt-Ost is the oldest district of Karlsruhe and is located in the area of the former Klein-Karlsruhe, a village from which the city of Karlsruhe later developed. Famous buildings located in Innenstadt-Ost are the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and the Wildparkstadion.

Rintheim is a district of Karlsruhe. It is located between Hagsfeld in the north, Oststadt in the west and the Autobahn 5 in the east. The Technologiepark Karlsruhe is located in Rintheim, a center for internet and high-tech companies.

Wildparkstadion, currently known as BBBank Wildpark for sponsorship reasons, is a football stadium located in Karlsruhe, Germany. It is the home of the football club Karlsruher SC. It is located northeast of the Karlsruhe Palace (Schloss) and is part of the former deer park (Wildpark) of the Grand Dukes of Baden in the Hardtwald, hence the name. There have been football pitches at the location since 1922, and the stadium was built in 1955, with several major renovations since. A decision to rebuild the stadium was taken in 2006. The City of Karlsruhe and Karlsruher SC became engulfed in disputes about finances and finally abandoned the project in 2014. Two years later, the city again decided to renew the stadium, using the existing site and financed mostly by the city. In November 2018, demolition of parts of the old stadium and the concurrent construction of a new 34,000-seat arena began. Works are being carried out in stages so that matches can be played on the existing pitch in front of at least 15,000 spectators. The new Wildparkstadion is expected to be completed in the first half of 2022 at a projected cost of €123 Million. In 2021, it was announced that BBBank had acquired the naming rights to the stadium for five years.

The Botanischer Garten der Universität Karlsruhe is a botanical garden maintained by the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology directorate of Peter Nick. It is located at Am Fasanengarten 2, Karlsruhe, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, and is open weekdays and Sundays; admission is free. The garden contains a total of 5,700 plant species, including 1,930 endangered species per the IUCN Red List or CITES conventions. It has three major missions: Research, particularly in understanding the molecular basis of development, growth, and metabolism, with specific projects in Arabidopsis thaliana, Gnetum gnemon, Nicotiana tabacum, Oryza sativa, and Vitis vinifera. The garden currently cultivates over 50 species of wild grape vines for use in research against downy mildew, as well as a collection of wild rice species from all over the world. Teaching, for which the garden provides plant material for the courses and is used for field trips and the comparison of plant types. Conservation of rare species and varieties of plants, including Althaea hirsuta, Androsace septentivionalis, Apium graveolens, Campanula cervicaria, Cnidium dubium, Equisetum × trachyodon, Gentiana cruziata, Leonurus cardica, Ludwigia palustris, Marsilea quadrifolia, Polystichum braunii, Populus nigra, Salix repens, Scirpus carinatus, Scirpus triqueter, Stipa ioannis, Taraxacum acoriferum, Taraxacum balticiforme, Taraxacum germanicum, Taraxacum pollichii, Trapa natans, Vaccinium x intermedia, Viola uliginosa, and Vitis vinifera L. ssp. sylvestris. It also maintains good collections of succulents and orchids.

The Hardtwald is a forest in Baden-Württemberg, south-western Germany. It is located around Karlsruhe, on the right (eastern) bank of the Rhine, between Schwetzingen in the north and Rastatt in the south. The Black Forest is located to its east. In the 18th century, Karlsruhe was founded in the Hardtwald.

Karlsruhe's University of Music (Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe in German) is a college of music in Karlsruhe, Germany. Originally the Baden Conservatory of Music, it was elevated to a Hochschule under the direction of Franz Philipp, who led the school from 1924 to 1942.
