Green Level High School

Green Level is an unincorporated community in southwestern Wake County, North Carolina, United States. It was founded c. 1800 and is one of the best preserved crossroads communities in the county. Although historically connected to the town of Apex, Green Level now lies within the municipal jurisdiction of the town of Cary.

The USA Baseball National Training Complex is located in western Cary, North Carolina, off of Green Hope School Road. The Town of Cary was selected to be the new home of USA Baseball in 2002. It is home to the St. Augustine's College Falcons baseball teams and was also the home of the North Carolina Tar Heels in 2008. Every June it hosts the annual Tournament of Stars, which features the top high-school talent in the nation. USA Baseball's college national team and several other teams use the complex for games and practice. Beginning in 2009, the complex was selected to host the NCAA Division II College World Series. The National Training Complex has four baseball fields (one Stadium Field and 3 Training Fields), with dimensions of 330 feet down the lines, 400 feet in center. All fields are maintained at Major League Baseball standards. Each training field has an individual scorekeeper/announcer shelter and spectator seating for 120 people. The Stadium Field has a press box that includes two suites, official scorer's room, a sound room and press row. The Stadium has spectator seating for 1,754 people, including handicapped-accessible seating, and additional grass seating for approximately 250 people. USA Baseball National Training Complex was built in a partnership between the Town of Cary and USA Baseball. USA Baseball has been located at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park since moving from Hi Corbett Field of Tucson, Arizona, in January 2003.

Kelly Road Park is a public, urban park in Apex, North Carolina. Located at 1609 Kelly Road, it is on the west side of Apex near Olive Chapel Elementary School. The 25 acre park is dominated by a large wooden playground structure. It is split into two separate sections, one for younger children (2-5) and the other for older children (5-12). The park also contains a picnic shelter, grill, baseball field, and tennis courts. Kelly Road Park is a trailhead for the Beaver Creek Greenway.

Green Hope High School is a secondary school located at 2500 Carpenter Upchurch Road in Cary, North Carolina. It is a part of the Wake County Public School System.

Carpenter is a small unincorporated community located in western Wake County, North Carolina, United States. Carpenter is centered on the intersection of Carpenter-Upchurch Road and Morrisville-Carpenter Road just east of North Carolina Highway 55. Most of Carpenter has been annexed by the Town of Cary. The community was named for William Carpenter, the first settler in the area, in 1865 (Powell 1968, p. 89). Carpenter was a stop on the former Durham and Southern Railway. Part of the community also includes the Carpenter Historic District, which was created in 2000. Carpenter Elementary was named for the community but lies in a recently annexed part of Cary.

Carpenter Historic District is a national historic district located near Cary, Wake County, North Carolina. The districts encompasses 66 contributing buildings, 1 contributing site, and 8 contributing structures in the rural crossroads community of Carpenter. The district developed between about 1895 and 1933, and includes notable examples of Late Victorian and Colonial Revival style architecture. Notable buildings include the Carpenter Farm Supply Company (c. 1895, 1916), D. Judson Clark Machine/Garage (c. 1920), Byrd-Ferrell House (c. 1900), Mallie and Cora Butts Farm, A.M. Howard Farm, and Barbee-Williams Farm.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

The Apex Town Hall, called Apex City Hall in the National Register of Historic Places is a historic town hall at 237 N Salem Street in the historic district of downtown Apex, North Carolina. It was built in 1912 after the June 12, 1911, fire destroyed several downtown buildings including the previous home of the town hall, Poe Brother's Store. The ground floor housed a farmer's market with fresh meat preserved by ice boxes, vegetables, chickens on the sidewalk out front, and two jail cells, segregated by race. Upstairs had an auditorium, opera stage, dressing rooms and the mayor's office. The building was heated by wood stoves and lighted by oil lamps. The auditorium hosted silent movies, Chautauquas, dramas, and other community cultural events. The Apex Volunteer Fire Department was formed in 1927 and took its first residence the town hall, parking a fire engine in the left bay of the building, which parked there through 1957. The Fire Department built a separate building across the street in 1958.Apex had a public works building attached to the back for a time, but it was removed to make parking spaces. The DMV had an office in the building for a time. The Town Hall function moved from the building in 1978 to 205 Saunders St. The building was condemned. The town refurbished it and it served as home to the Apex Parks and Recreation department through 2007.

West Street Park is a public, urban park in Apex, North Carolina. It is located at the junction of West Street and First Street, a half-mile south west of the Apex Historic District. The 1.3 acre park has a picnic shelter with grill, and a playground, and a basketball court.

The Apex Union Depot is a historic railroad station located on Salem Street in downtown Apex, North Carolina and is the centerpiece of the Apex Historic District. Constructed in 1914 by the Seaboard Air Line Railroad, the building shared service with the Durham and Southern Railway, but now houses the Apex Visitor's Center, Apex Chamber of Commerce, and meeting rooms rented out for special events. A 37-foot (11.3 m) Louisville and Nashville Railroad caboose is located beside the building. In December 1998 the Apex Union Depot was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.The history of Apex revolves around the railroads and station. The town was named for being the highest point on the Chatham Railroad line between Richmond, Virginia and Jacksonville, Florida. In 1854 the first Apex railroad station was chartered. Over the next two decades, the land surrounding the station was developed and the town of Apex was incorporated in 1873. A new train depot was built in 1906 to accommodate the town's growth, but burned down in 1914. Later that year, the current facility was constructed. During the Great Depression, economic difficulties were responsible for a decrease in rail traffic. By 1934, only four stops were made at the Apex Union Depot. The decline continued until the 1960s when the Depot was closed and the building became the town's library. After a new library was built in 1996, the depot was renovated by the Apex Chamber of Commerce for use as its offices and a visitors' center. Freight trains and Amtrak's Silver Star pass by the station each day, with passenger trains stopping in nearby Cary.Apex Union Depot is an example of Late Victorian architecture and features a double fireplace, ticket windows, and the original switchmen's lanterns. The brick building was originally designed to segregate white and black riders. White people used a waiting room located on the left side of the depot. Women who were traveling alone used a room located behind one of the fireplaces.
