West Street Park is a public, urban park in Apex, North Carolina. It is located at the junction of West Street and First Street, a half-mile south west of the Apex Historic District. The 1.3 acre park has a picnic shelter with grill, and a playground, and a basketball court.

The Apex Town Hall, called Apex City Hall in the National Register of Historic Places is a historic town hall at 237 N Salem Street in the historic district of downtown Apex, North Carolina. It was built in 1912 after the June 12, 1911, fire destroyed several downtown buildings including the previous home of the town hall, Poe Brother's Store. The ground floor housed a farmer's market with fresh meat preserved by ice boxes, vegetables, chickens on the sidewalk out front, and two jail cells, segregated by race. Upstairs had an auditorium, opera stage, dressing rooms and the mayor's office. The building was heated by wood stoves and lighted by oil lamps. The auditorium hosted silent movies, Chautauquas, dramas, and other community cultural events. The Apex Volunteer Fire Department was formed in 1927 and took its first residence the town hall, parking a fire engine in the left bay of the building, which parked there through 1957. The Fire Department built a separate building across the street in 1958.Apex had a public works building attached to the back for a time, but it was removed to make parking spaces. The DMV had an office in the building for a time. The Town Hall function moved from the building in 1978 to 205 Saunders St. The building was condemned. The town refurbished it and it served as home to the Apex Parks and Recreation department through 2007.

The Apex Union Depot is a historic railroad station located on Salem Street in downtown Apex, North Carolina and is the centerpiece of the Apex Historic District. Constructed in 1914 by the Seaboard Air Line Railroad, the building shared service with the Durham and Southern Railway, but now houses the Apex Visitor's Center, Apex Chamber of Commerce, and meeting rooms rented out for special events. A 37-foot (11.3 m) Louisville and Nashville Railroad caboose is located beside the building. In December 1998 the Apex Union Depot was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.The history of Apex revolves around the railroads and station. The town was named for being the highest point on the Chatham Railroad line between Richmond, Virginia and Jacksonville, Florida. In 1854 the first Apex railroad station was chartered. Over the next two decades, the land surrounding the station was developed and the town of Apex was incorporated in 1873. A new train depot was built in 1906 to accommodate the town's growth, but burned down in 1914. Later that year, the current facility was constructed. During the Great Depression, economic difficulties were responsible for a decrease in rail traffic. By 1934, only four stops were made at the Apex Union Depot. The decline continued until the 1960s when the Depot was closed and the building became the town's library. After a new library was built in 1996, the depot was renovated by the Apex Chamber of Commerce for use as its offices and a visitors' center. Freight trains and Amtrak's Silver Star pass by the station each day, with passenger trains stopping in nearby Cary.Apex Union Depot is an example of Late Victorian architecture and features a double fireplace, ticket windows, and the original switchmen's lanterns. The brick building was originally designed to segregate white and black riders. White people used a waiting room located on the left side of the depot. Women who were traveling alone used a room located behind one of the fireplaces.

Hunter Street Park is a public, urban park in Apex, North Carolina. Located at 1250 Ambergate Station in Apex, the park is a short distance from downtown Apex and is directly across from the Apex Town Hall. The 12-acre (4.9 ha) park contains a softball/baseball field, a soccer field, a multi-age playground, and an asphalt walking trail. It is also home to the city's dog parks.

Clairmont Park is a public, urban park in Apex, North Carolina. Located at 801 E. Chatham St in Apex, the park is a short distance to the east of downtown Apex. The 1.5 acre park contains a picnic shelter and grill, a basketball court, and a youth playground (ages 5–12).

Apex () is a town in Wake County, North Carolina, United States. At its southern border, Apex encompasses the community of Friendship. In 1994, the downtown area was designated a historic district, and the Apex train depot, built in 1867, is designated a Wake County landmark. The depot location marks the highest point on the old Chatham Railroad, hence the town's name. The town motto is "The Peak of Good Living". In the late 19th century, a small community developed around the railroad station. The forests were cleared for farmland, much of which was dedicated to tobacco farming. Since Apex was near the state capital, it became a trading center. The railroad shipped products such as lumber, tar, and tobacco. The town was officially incorporated in 1873. By 1900, the town had a population of 349. As of the 2020 census, its population was 58,780.The population boom occurred primarily in the late 1990s. The Research Triangle Park, established in the 1960s, created strong demand for technology workers. This also drove population growth. Apex is currently the 18th-largest municipality in North Carolina.

Salem Pond Park is a public, urban park in Apex, North Carolina. Located at 6112 Old Jenks Rd, it is on the north side of Apex near Salem Elementary School. The park consists of a train themed playground adjacent to a gated soccer pitch. The pitch has lighting for night use, and the park overlooks 2 ponds of water. There is a half-mile walking trail encompassing the park. The park is commonly used as a meeting place for students from surrounding schools.

Apex High School is a public high school in Apex, North Carolina, United States, and is part of the Wake County Public School System (WCPSS). It is on a 4x4 block scheduling system.

Kelly Road Park is a public, urban park in Apex, North Carolina. Located at 1609 Kelly Road, it is on the west side of Apex near Olive Chapel Elementary School. The 25 acre park is dominated by a large wooden playground structure. It is split into two separate sections, one for younger children (2-5) and the other for older children (5-12). The park also contains a picnic shelter, grill, baseball field, and tennis courts. Kelly Road Park is a trailhead for the Beaver Creek Greenway.

Seagroves Farm Park is a public, urban park in Apex, North Carolina. It is located at 201 Parkfield Drive, approximately one and a half miles east of the Apex Historic District. The park has a pond with a fishing pier, shelter, playground, and walking trail. It also contains a large open play field.

Cary Parkway (SR 3977) is a major semi-circular route through Cary, North Carolina, United States. The parkway serves approximately as Cary's outer ring highway, though it does not form a complete circle like the inner ring, Maynard Road. Viewing a map of the town as a clock-face, Cary Parkway extends counterclockwise approximately from the 12 o'clock position in the north down to the 7 o'clock position in the southwest. At that point, the road departs from its circular path and heads south toward its terminus at Holly Springs Road.

Apex Nature Park is a public, urban park in Apex, North Carolina. Located at 2500 and 2600 Evans Road, it is on the south west side of Apex. It is bordered by Apex Barbecue Road on the East. The park is split into two distinct sections: the Apex Nature Park and the Seymour Athletic Fields.
