Altavilla Milicia

Soluntum or Solus was an ancient city on the Tyrrhenian coast of Sicily near present-day in the comune of Santa Flavia, Italy. The site is a major tourist attraction. The city was founded by the Phoenicians in the sixth century BC and was one of the three chief Phoenician settlements in Sicily in the archaic and classical periods. It was destroyed at the beginning of the fourth century BC and re-founded on its present site atop Monte Catalfano. At the end of the fourth century BC, Greek soldiers were settled there and in the 3rd century BC the city came under the control of the Roman Republic. Excavations took place in the 19th century and in the mid-20th century. Around half of the urban area has been uncovered and it is relatively well preserved. The remains provide a good example of an ancient city in which Greek, Roman and Punic traditions mixed.

The Villa Spedalotto is the country home of the Paternò di Spedalotto family. The villa is situated on a hill surrounded by olive groves at Bagheria, near Palermo in Sicily. As all the Villas in Bagheria, it was built as a country house, and was traditionally used by the family only during the spring and autumn. While considered a national monument, it remains a private residence.

The Villa Palagonia is a patrician villa in Bagheria, 15 km from Palermo, in Sicily, southern Italy. The villa itself, built from 1715 by the architect Tommaso Napoli with the help of Agatino Daidone, is one of the earliest examples of Sicilian Baroque. However, its popularity comes mainly from the statues of monsters with human faces that decorate its garden and its wall, and earned it the nickname of "The Villa of Monsters" (Villa dei Mostri). This series of grotesques, created from 1749 by Francesco Ferdinando II Gravina, Prince of Palagonia, aroused the curiosity of the travellers of the Grand Tour during the 18th and 19th centuries, for instance Henry Swinburne, Patrick Brydone, John Soane, Goethe, the Count de Borde, the artist Jean-Pierre Houël or Alexandre Dumas, prior to fascinate surrealists like André Breton or contemporary authors such as Giovanni Macchia and Dominique Fernandez, or the painter Renato Guttuso. In 1885, the villa was bought by private individuals, whose heirs are still in possession, and is partially open to the public. Villa Palagonia has been one of the venues for music concerts held within the framework of the Concert Season of Bagheria (Stagione Concertistica Città di Bagheria) initiative since 2017, with free entrance.

Bagheria (Italian pronunciation: [baɡeˈriːa]; Sicilian: Baarìa [baːˈɾiːa]) is a city and comune in the Metropolitan City of Palermo in Sicily, located approximately 10km to the east of the city centre.

Capo Zafferano Lighthouse (Italian: Faro di Capo Zafferano) is an active lighthouse located at the extreme tip of the homonymy promontory, under a steep ridge, that marks the eastern entrance to the port of Palermo. The lighthouse is in the municipality of Santa Flavia on the Tyrrhenian Sea.

Aspra (Aspira in Sicilian) is a town in the comune of Bagheria in the Province of Palermo in Sicily, Italy. The first traces of the town are thought to belong to the period of Arabic domination in Sicily, as it is suspected that the name comes from the Arabic حجر («stone»). Aspra was in fact, for generations, used to cave out blocks of calcarenite (light stone, of medium strength and easy to work in the big open sky caves locally called "pirriere"). The territory of Aspra goes from the Montagna d'Aspra, which is the name of the mountain near the town with the tops of Monte Irice (284 m), Cozzo San Pietro (345 m) and Cozzo Tondo. The mountain extends in a promontory (Capo Mongerbino). Continuing towards Esto est, passing Mongerbino, is possible to reach Porticello (locality of the town Santa Flavia). West Aspra ends following the profile of the river Eleuterio. Aspra was part of the land of the nobility of Marquis of Sant'Isidoro of which now remain a villa and the land of the Church of Aspra (originally his own private chapel but later donated to the town, the other portion of this is partially used as municipal offices). Notable are the alfrescos by Renato Guttuso in the church, the seaside (lungomare), and "u rittufilu" (a straight road extending from the Corso Butera of Bagheria). Fishing is the primary economic activity of the town, with local anchovies being exported worldwide.

Ficarazzi is a comune (municipality) in the Metropolitan City of Palermo in the Italian region of Sicily, located about 10 kilometres (6 mi) southeast of Palermo. Ficarazzi borders the following municipalities: Bagheria, Misilmeri, Palermo, Villabate.

Misilmeri (Sicilian: Musulumeli) is a town and comune in the Metropolitan City of Palermo, Sicily. It is approximately 15 kilometres (9 mi) from Palermo and its name means "the resting place or the messuage of the Emir", and dates from the Muslim emirate of Sicily. The village rose around a castle (today known as Castello dell'Emiro, or "Castle of the Emir") founded by emir Jafar II (998–1019). In 1068 the Battle of Misilmeri was fought between the Normans and Arabs Misilmeri is located in the Eleuterio Valley on the southern slopes of Montagna Grande. It is the birthplace of the magistrate Rocco Chinnici.

Villabate (Sicilian: Villabbati) is a comune (municipality) in the Metropolitan City of Palermo in the Italian region Sicily, located about 8 kilometres (5 mi) southeast of Palermo. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 19,441 and an area of 3.8 square kilometres (1.5 sq mi).Villabate borders the following municipalities: Ficarazzi, Misilmeri, Palermo.

Trabia (Sicilian: 'A Trabbìa) is a comune (municipality) in the Metropolitan City of Palermo in the Italian region Sicily, located about 30 kilometres (19 mi) southeast of Palermo. Trabia borders the following municipalities: Altavilla Milicia, Caccamo, Casteldaccia, Termini Imerese.

Bolognetta (Sicilian: Bulugnetta) is a comune (municipality) in the Metropolitan City of Palermo in the Italian region Sicily, located about 20 kilometres (12 mi) southeast of Palermo. In the 17th century Bolognetta was a fief of the Mancini family with the name of Ogliastro. Bolognetta borders the following municipalities: Baucina, Casteldaccia, Marineo, Misilmeri, Ventimiglia di Sicilia, Villafrati.
