Orme is a town in Marion County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 87 as of the 2020 census, down from 126 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the Chattanooga, TN–GA Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Primitive Baptist Church of Sweeten's Cove is a historic Primitive Baptist church in Marion County, Tennessee, located in the Sweeten's Cove area in the Sequatchie Valley, about 7 miles (11 km) north of South Pittsburg. Sweeten's Cove, which is identified as Sweeden's Cove in some old maps and documents, was an area of early settlement, primarily by members of the Beene (Bean) and Raulston (Roulston) families. The church was established around 1821 as Union Primitive Baptist Church. It adopted its current name in 1834. The church building was completed in 1853.On June 4, 1862, Sweeten's Cove was the site of a minor battle between Union Army forces under General James Negley and a Confederate cavalry unit led by Colonel John Adams. Twenty unidentified Confederate soldiers who died in the battle are buried in the Bean-Roulston Cemetery, which is about 0.7 miles (1.1 km) north of the church.The church was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Bridgeport is a city in Jackson County, Alabama, United States. At the time of 2020 census the population was 2,264, down from 2,418 in 2010. Bridgeport is included in the Chattanooga-Cleveland-Dalton, TN-GA-AL Combined Statistical Area.

The Bridgeport Historic District is a historic district in Bridgeport, Alabama. Founded in the 1810s as a farming community, Bridgeport became a major transportation hub with the coming of the Nashville and Chattanooga Railroad and Southern Railway in the 1850s, in addition to its Tennessee River port. Due to the importance of its rail bridge, the town changed hands several times during the course of the Civil War. Industry began to move into the area in the late 1880s and 1890s, and commercial development of the downtown area soon followed. The district retains several one- and two-story commercial buildings, most constructed out of brick in simple styles popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Many of the elite built their homes on Battery Hill, overlooking the river. The district contains several Victorian and Queen Anne houses, as well as Bungalows and Vernacular styles. The Mission Revival Nashville, Chattanooga, and St. Louis Railroad depot, three railroad bridges, and three Civil War fortifications are also contained in the district. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

The Bridgeport Depot Museum, sometimes called the Bridgeport Depot in Bridgeport, Alabama is home to railroad memorabilia as well as a range of local artifacts. Items in the museum's collection date back to 1807 with Bridgeport News issues going back to 1891, post office and tax records as well as items related to Bridgeport's role in the American Civil War. The museum, operated by the Bridgeport Area Historical Association, is located on the site of the town's fourth railroad depot, which was constructed in 1917.

South Pittsburg is a city in Marion County, Tennessee, United States. It is part of the Chattanooga, TN–GA Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 3,106 at the 2020 census. South Pittsburg is home to the National Cornbread Festival.

South Pittsburg High School is a high school in South Pittsburg, Tennessee, United States. It is part of Marion County Schools. The school was established in 1924.

Skirmishes at or near Bridgeport, Alabama between Union Army and Confederate States Army forces occurred on April 23, 27 and 29 (West Bridge), 1862 during the American Civil War. A modern newspaper article called the April 1862 action the siege of Bridgeport after a modern re-enactment event, although the actions are described as skirmishes by other sources such as Dyer (1908), Long (1971) and the U.S. National Park Service. Other skirmishes occurred at Bridgeport on August 27, 1862 and July 27, 1863, which involved an attack on a steamer. Union forces occupied Bridgeport after an engagement on July 29, 1863.

The National Cornbread Festival is a celebration of cornbread and cornbread-related activities. The festival, held in South Pittsburg, Tennessee from 1997 to 2019 during the last full weekend in April, will resume in 2022. The Shelby Rhinehart Bridge is a steel tied-arch bridge built in 1981. It carries Tennessee State Route 156 over the Tennessee River. It has a total length of 1,514 feet (461 m). It connects South Pittsburg, Tennessee to New Hope, Tennessee.
