Rushden Hall is a historic Grade II* listed country house located in the town of Rushden in Northamptonshire which was built for the Pemberton family in the 14th century.Originally in private hands, it was opened to the public in 1930. In the 1960s, parts of the property had fallen into disrepair and the local council had considered demolition, but it was later restored. Today, it serves as the headquarters of Rushden Town Council and also hosts office space for private businesses. Rooms are also available for hire for social functions, weddings and exhibitions.

Rushden is a town and civil parish in North Northamptonshire, England, around 18 miles (29 km) east of Northampton. The parish is on the border with Bedfordshire, 12 miles (19 km) north of Bedford.The parish of Rushden covers an area of some 9,000 acres (36.42 km2). The population of Rushden is 32,038, making it the fifth largest town in the county. The larger urban area, which includes the adjoining town of Higham Ferrers, has a population of 40,865.

The Rushden, Higham and Wellingborough Railway is a heritage railway operated by the Rushden Historical Transport Society in the town of Rushden in the county of Northamptonshire, England. The aim of the society was to reopen most of the former Midland Railway branch line from Wellingborough to Higham Ferrers, which had been closed completely in November 1969. As of April 2016, around 1⁄2 mile (0.8 km) stretch of the line is operated between Rushden station and Prospect Avenue. The society plans to extend the line to a halt at Higham Ferrers. They are unable to extend back towards Wellingborough due to developments that have taken place along the route of the old branch line.

Rushden & Higham United F.C. is a football club based in Rushden, Northamptonshire, England. They are currently members of the Spartan South Midlands League Division One.

A.F.C. Rushden & Diamonds is an English football club based in Rushden in Northamptonshire. They played their opening season at Kiln Park, the home of Raunds Town, in 2011–12 and subsequently shared the Dog & Duck ground with Wellingborough Town from July 2012 to the summer of 2017. A groundshare agreement with Rushden & Higham United was agreed for the 2017–18 season. The club was formed by supporters in July 2011, after Rushden & Diamonds, a former Football League club, were expelled from the Football Conference and liquidated.At an open meeting chaired by a supporters group called SaveRDFC, a mandate was agreed upon to create a phoenix club, fully owned and controlled by its supporters. A team was created and accepted into the Northants Senior Youth League for the 2011–12 season, while a senior team played in the United Counties Football League Division One for the 2012–13 season. They are currently members of the Northern Premier League Division One Midlands.

The Town Ground in Rushden is a cricket ground which was used by Northamptonshire County Cricket Club in 22 first-class matches for 39 years between 1924 and 1963. It is now used predominantly for Northamptonshire Premier League games, serving as the home ground of 2015 Northamptonshire Cricket League Premier Division Champions Rushden and Higham Town Cricket Club since 2003.

Rushden have 3 senior XI teams in the Northamptonshire Cricket League, and an established Junior Section, who compete in the Higham & District Youth League. Rushden Academy is an Academy school in Rushden, Northamptonshire, which was founded in 1977. The school was formerly the Chichele College for Girls until 1991 when it was amalgamated to become The Rushden School, rebranding as the Rushden Community College in 2005 and as Rushden Academy in 2014. There were 784 students in Years 7 to 13 on roll in the 2018-2019 college year, including the Sixth Form which is shared with two other local schools.

The Higham Ferrers school shooting was a shooting that occurred on 6 January 1988 at The Ferrers School, Higham Ferrers, England in which a 16-year-old student of the school, Darren Fowler, having been expelled in late 1987, took a 12-gauge shotgun to school in an attempt to kill his romantic rival. He injured two teachers and two twelve-year-old students before being subdued and disarmed by staff.
