Rushden Hall

Rushden is a town and civil parish in North Northamptonshire, England, around 18 miles (29 km) east of Northampton. The parish is on the border with Bedfordshire, 12 miles (19 km) north of Bedford.The parish of Rushden covers an area of some 9,000 acres (36.42 km2). The population of Rushden is 32,038, making it the fifth largest town in the county. The larger urban area, which includes the adjoining town of Higham Ferrers, has a population of 40,865.

The Rushden, Higham and Wellingborough Railway is a heritage railway operated by the Rushden Historical Transport Society in the town of Rushden in the county of Northamptonshire, England. The aim of the society was to reopen most of the former Midland Railway branch line from Wellingborough to Higham Ferrers, which had been closed completely in November 1969. As of April 2016, around 1⁄2 mile (0.8 km) stretch of the line is operated between Rushden station and Prospect Avenue. The society plans to extend the line to a halt at Higham Ferrers. They are unable to extend back towards Wellingborough due to developments that have taken place along the route of the old branch line.

Rushden Academy is an Academy school in Rushden, Northamptonshire, which was founded in 1977. The school was formerly the Chichele College for Girls until 1991 when it was amalgamated to become The Rushden School, rebranding as the Rushden Community College in 2005 and as Rushden Academy in 2014. There were 784 students in Years 7 to 13 on roll in the 2018-2019 college year, including the Sixth Form which is shared with two other local schools.

A.F.C. Rushden & Diamonds is an English football club based in Rushden in Northamptonshire. They played their opening season at Kiln Park, the home of Raunds Town, in 2011–12 and subsequently shared the Dog & Duck ground with Wellingborough Town from July 2012 to the summer of 2017. A groundshare agreement with Rushden & Higham United was agreed for the 2017–18 season. The club was formed by supporters in July 2011, after Rushden & Diamonds, a former Football League club, were expelled from the Football Conference and liquidated.At an open meeting chaired by a supporters group called SaveRDFC, a mandate was agreed upon to create a phoenix club, fully owned and controlled by its supporters. A team was created and accepted into the Northants Senior Youth League for the 2011–12 season, while a senior team played in the United Counties Football League Division One for the 2012–13 season. They are currently members of the Northern Premier League Division One Midlands.

The Town Ground in Rushden is a cricket ground which was used by Northamptonshire County Cricket Club in 22 first-class matches for 39 years between 1924 and 1963. Wymington is a small village and civil parish in the borough of Bedford in northern Bedfordshire, England. It is located around a mile and a half south of Rushden, in the neighbouring county of Northamptonshire, and about 10 miles (16 km) north-northwest of Bedford.As of 2011, the parish of Wymington had a population of 876. The village is home to a 14th century parish church, a Wesleyan chapel, a school, and a pub. One bus line stops in the village and provides service to Rushden and Bedford. A small brook runs through the village that drains into the River Nene about 3 miles north.Throughout its history Wymington has been referred to by various names, including Wimmington, Winnington, Wimentone, Wimuntun, Widmintun, and Wymingas, among others. The name is possibly derived from Old English and refers to a 'tun' held by a person named Wigmund or Wimund, though other older sources indicate it could possibly be a reference to the site of an ancient, possibly Roman, battle. Wymington is home to numerous listed buildings in the village, including the Grade 1 listed parish church.

The Parish Church of Saint Lawrence, Wymington is a Grade I listed church in Wymington, Bedfordshire, England. It became a listed building on 13 July 1964. The church was built in 1377 with funds bequeathed by John Curteys, the mayor of the wool staple at Calais, though there are records of a previous church on the site dating back to at least 1235. The church is noted for its 15th century doom painting depicting Christ in glory with scenes of the judgement as well as its funerary brasses and monuments.
