Kinsman Stable is the nom de course for the American Thoroughbred racing stable of George Steinbrenner, best known as the owner of the New York Yankees Major League Baseball team. A director and former president of the Florida Thoroughbred Breeders' and Owners' Association, Steinbrenner became involved with the sport in the early 1970s and owned the 860-acre (3.5 km2) Kinsman Stud Farm in Ocala, Florida where his Thoroughbreds are stabled. His son Hank and daughter Jessica are both involved in the business. As of 2008, Kinsman Stable has bred and/or raced more than thirty-five stakes winners. In 2005 their colt Bellamy Road won the Wood Memorial Stakes and was then sent off as the betting favorite in the Kentucky Derby but finished seventh to the winner, Giacomo. For 2008, the stable had another Derby prospect in Hopeful Stakes winner, Majestic Warrior.

Romeo is an unincorporated community in Marion County, in the U.S. state of Florida.A post office called Romeo was in operation between 1888 and 1955. The community may have been named after Romeo from William Shakespeare's tragedy Romeo and Juliet. According to local tradition, the community was named for two star-crossed lovers. The boy was from Romeo and the girl lived in Juliette (an extinct town).

The Marion County part of the community is part of the Ocala metropolitan area, while the Levy County portion is part of the Gainesville metropolitan area. It was first listed as a CDP for the 2020 census, at which time it had a population of 3,438.The community is northwest of Rainbow Springs, a natural spring in nearby Rainbow Springs State Park. There are various community owned and maintained facilities as well as paved roads. A large percentage of the platted building lots are unimproved.

Rainbow Springs State Park is a Florida state park located on U.S. 41, 3 miles (5 km) north of Dunnellon, Florida. It comprises 1,459.07 acres (5.9046 km2) upland (which includes around 100 acres (0.40 km2) of wetlands) and 12.83 acres (51,900 m2) submerged. The most significant natural feature is the first-magnitude headspring basin, which produces up to 600,000,000 US gallons (2,300,000 m3) of fresh water per day, forming the Rainbow River. The looking-glass waters of Rainbow Springs come from several vents, not one large bubbling spring. The river itself supports a wide variety of fish, wildlife, and plants, many within easy viewing by visitors. In total, the park contains 11 distinct natural communities, including sandhills, flatwoods, upland mixed forests, and hydric hammocks. Visitors are able to see a variety of wildflowers in season; oak, longleaf pines, magnolia, dogwood, red maple, redbud, cypress, sabal, and hickory trees; gray squirrels, red-shouldered hawks, swallowtail kites, barred owls, whitetail deer, and a wide variety of wading birds. The relative peace and quiet of the winter season offers much for the nature enthusiast. An interpretive room located in the visitor center displays the historical, natural, and cultural resources of the park.

Rainbow Springs, formerly known as Blue Spring, is a first-magnitude artesian spring formation in Marion County, Florida, United States, several miles north of the city of Dunnellon. Rainbow Springs is the focal point of Rainbow Springs State Park. The spring formation is the fourth-largest in Florida, and produces over 490 million gallons of water daily. Rainbow Springs forms the headwaters of the Rainbow River, which empties into the Withlacoochee River.

Camp Izard, also written as Camp Izzard, was a fortification of the U.S. Army built along the Withlacoochee River (Ouithlacoochee) during the Seminole Wars. It is about 20 miles southwest of Ocala and had a cemetery. The site is now part of the Florida Seminole Wars Heritage Trail. It was named for Lieutenant James F. Izard after he was killed in combat with the Seminoles in the area February 1836.In 1897, an annual picnic was reportedly held in the Camp Izard area. The Camp Izzard Boat Ramp is in the area.
