Kenfig Hill (Welsh: Mynydd Cynffig) is a village in Bridgend County Borough, South Wales. It is bordered by Pyle to the south-west, Cefn Cribwr to the north-east, North Cornelly to the south and Moel Ton-Mawr mountain to the north. The nearest train station is Pyle on the South Wales Main Line. The largest nearby outside connection is the M4 just south of the village that leads from Carmarthenshire to London.

Waun Cimla, also known as Bedford Park is a Site of Special Scientific Interest in Glamorgan, south Wales. It contains the Cefn Cribwr Ironworks and some 40 acres of woodlands and meadows.The SSSI is designated for its marshy grassland habitats, rare plant species and marsh fritillary butterfly.

This large village is served by the A48 road, and lies less than one mile from Junction 37 of the M4 motorway, and is therefore only a half-hour journey from the capital city of Wales, Cardiff. The nearest town is the seaside resort of Porthcawl. Within the Community, to the northeast of Pyle, is the adjoining settlement of Kenfig Hill, North Cornelly also adjoins Pyle and the built-up area had a population of 13,701 in 2011.

St James's Church is a Grade I listed church in Pyle, Bridgend County Borough, southern Wales. A church was present in the area during the Norman period, but due to sand invasion by the later 14th century a new church had to be built, using some of the earlier materials. The date 1471, displayed on the roof indicates that the churches was rebuilt at that time. In 1877 the church was extensively renovated, and further restored by F W Waller in 1891, when the chancel was given a new roof and the church was fitted with a new organ chamber. St James's Church became a Grade I listed building on 26 July 1963.

Tir Iarll (Welsh for 'Earl's Land'; Welsh pronunciation: [ˌtiːr ˈjarɬ]), is the traditional name of an area of Glamorgan, Wales, which has long had a particular resonance in Welsh culture.In medieval times Tir Iarll was a cwmwd covering the present-day parishes of Llangynwyd, Betws, Cynffig and Margam. It long preserved traditional customs, notably the Mari Lwyd or Grey Mare. The late medieval Welsh poets Rhys Brydydd, his son Rhisiart ap Rhys and brother (or son) Gwilym Tew all came from Tir Iarll.

Caeau Cefn Cribwr is a Site of Special Scientific Interest near Cefn Cribwr in Bridgend, south Wales. The Countryside Council for Wales states that the site has been categorised as a Site of Special Interest for "...its marshy grassland and species-rich neutral grassland. Smaller areas of wet heath, woodland and scrub add to the interest. It is also of special interest for populations of three rare plants: marsh fern, soft-leaved sedge and viper's grass. Marsh Fritillary butterfly can be found here."
