Ball Pond is an 83-acre lake located in New Fairfield, Connecticut. It is the namesake of the CDP of the same name. Ball Pond is a glacial kettle lake naturally filled by groundwater springs and surface water runoff. It is located within the drainage basin of the Housatonic River and has a watershed of 246 acres (100 ha). The watershed mostly contains residential developments with septic-sewage systems, which load the lake with nitrogen and phosphorus. The pond has one outflow, Ball Pond Brook, which itself drains into Candlewood Lake.The lake was originally named Lake Hahlawah after a local medicine man. The Hahlawah Preserve is three parcels of protected forestland near Ball Pond.

New Fairfield High School is the only public high school in New Fairfield, Connecticut, United States. It enrolls approximately 500 to 700 students annually in grades 9-12 from New Fairfield, as well as students from the neighboring town of Sherman who elect to attend. The current principal of New Fairfield High School is James D'Amico. The school mascot is the "Rebel," depicted on school symbols as a Revolutionary War soldier. This mascot was chosen by students at the school in celebration of the United States Bicentennial in 1976, as that was the first graduating class. NFHS was ranked #59 by U.S. News & World Report among high schools in Connecticut for 2019.

It is in the southwest quadrant of the town, northwest of the village of New Fairfield and east of Ball Pond. Bigelow Corners was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census.

The Williams House is a historic single-family residence located at 5 Williams Road in New Fairfield, Connecticut. Likely built between 1800 and 1835, it is a well-preserved example of early American residential architecture, with transitional Federal and Greek Revival features. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.

The New Fairfield Historical District is in New Fairfield, Connecticut. In 2005, the newly created state-funded Connecticut Commission on Culture and Tourism awarded its first Endangered Properties Grant to the Town of New Fairfield. The $50,000 grant was used to relocate and preserve the Parsonage and the Gideon Hubbell House, two historically significant State Register properties threatened with demolition. Both properties were to be adapted for reuse as part of New Fairfield’s new community center, the first step in the creation of a living history village and town center. The houses were moved to their new location on March 4, 2007.

Morefar Back O'Beyond is a secretive, little-used private golf course located on 500 acres (2.0 km2) in both Danbury, Connecticut and Southeast, New York. The course can be seen from portions of the Richter Park public course and has garnered local rumor as to its origin and ownership.Course officials do not cooperate with the press seeking information about the facility. It appears the course was established in 1964 (some sources say 1962) by Cornelius Vander Starr who had founded the company later known as AIG over forty years before. His ashes are interred on the fifteenth tee. In 2006, it was owned by Starr International, a Bermuda-based company long associated with AIG and the Starr family. It is currently controlled by Maurice Greenberg, former AIG Chief Executive Officer. Starr International also does not discuss the facility. In 2010. press reports stated the course was owned by the private Back O' Beyond Inc., based in Brewster.It appears memberships are not available to the public and the course may only be used by employees of Starr International. Some companies associated with AIG and the financial sector were able to host functions at the club in the mid-2000s. Sculptures dot the course. The course, a par 69, measures 6748 yards. Edward C. Ryder (d. 1986) and also known for nearby Richter Park Golf Course and Val Carlson are credited as its designers.The course includes a restaurant and full bar. Margerie Lake Reservoir is a 244 acre lake in New Fairfield, Connecticut. It is a source of drinking water for the Danbury area and is managed by the Danbury Water Department. It has a watershed of 2,942 acres.

Milltown is a hamlet in the town of Southeast located in Putnam County, New York, United States. It is in the easternmost part of town, bordering the city of Danbury, Connecticut.

The Old Southeast Church is located at the end of a short dirt road leading from NY 22 in the Town of Southeast, New York, United States, a few miles north of the village of Brewster. It is a wooden building formerly used by a Presbyterian congregation. Built in the late 18th century and later modified following a fire, it is the oldest house of worship in Putnam County. Today many of its materials are intact but it is the subject of ongoing preservation efforts. It and a small one-room schoolhouse nearby are the few remaining buildings from the former hamlet of Doanesburgh, once the commercial center of eastern Putnam County. In 1972 it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the first property in the county to be so listed. It is currently owned by the Landmarks Preservation Society of Southeast and used occasionally as a cultural center.
