Monument of Hungarian Boy (Szczecin)

The John Paul II Jasne Błonia Square, commonly known as Jasne Błonia, and until 1945 known as Quistorp-Aue, is an urban green space in the city of Szczecin, Poland. It is located in the district of Śródmieście, in the Śródmieście-Północ municipal neighbourhood. The park borders Szczecin City Hall to the south, and Jan Kasprowicz Park to the north.

The Monument to the Polish Endeavor (Polish: Pomnik Czynu Polaków), also known as the Monument of the Three Eagles (Polish: Pomnik Trzech Orłów), and the Eagles' Nest (Polish: Gniazdo Orłów), is a monument in the city of Szczecin, Poland, located at the Bright Meadows Square, at the boundary with the Jan Kasprowicz Park. It was designed by Gustaw Zemła, and unveiled in 1979.The monument consists of three bronze sculptures of eagles with spread wings, each placed on a steel column with a square base. The three birds are meant to symbolize three generations of Polish inhabitants of the city. That includes the Polish people who lived in the city prior to the end of the Second World War in 1945, people who moved to, and rebuilt the city after the end of the conflict, in place of mostly German population, who left or were deported, and the children of the new population, who further developed the city.

Śródmieście-Północ (Downtown-North) is a municipal neighbourhood of the city of Szczecin, Poland, in Śródmieście (Centre) District. As of January 2011 it had a population of 12,507.

The Szczecin tram system is a 12-line, standard gauge tramway system in Szczecin, Poland, that has been in operation since 1879 (when the town was Stettin, Prussia). The tramway operates on 65 kilometers (40 mi) of route. There are two depots and twelve balloon loops (including five street ones). Daytime lines (night lines were abolished in 1996) are operated by the company Tramwaje Szczecińskie (Szczecin Tramways), on behalf of the ZDiTM (Zarząd Dróg i Transportu Miejskiego; Road and Public Transport Administration). There is also a tourist line operated by the Szczecin's Association of the Enthusiasts of Public Transport.

Szczecin Philharmonic, officially Mieczysław Karłowicz Philharmonic (Polish: Filharmonia im. Mieczysława Karłowicza), founded in 1948, is a philharmonic of the city of Szczecin, Poland. In 2015, the new building of the philharmonic was awarded the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture.

Rusałka, until 1945 known as Westendsee, is a dam lake in Szczecin, Poland located in northern part of Jan Kasprowicz Park. It's only inflow and discharge is Osówka stream. Its area is 0.03 km2, it is 0.67 km long and 0.07 km wide.

The Jan Kasprowicz Park, also known as the Kasprowicz Park, and until 1945 known as Quistorp Park, is the biggest urban park in Szczecin, Poland located within municipal neighbourhood of Łękno near the boundaries of Śródmieście–Północ and Niebuszewo–Bolinko. The area of the park is circa 27.03 ha. Together with Arkonian Forest Park it forms Kasprowicz–Arkonian Park Complex which area is 91,69 ha. It borders the Jasne Błonia on the south east and the Stefan Kownas Arboretum on the north.

The University of Szczecin (Polish: Uniwersytet Szczeciński) is a public university in Szczecin, western Poland. It is the biggest university in West Pomerania, with 33,267 students and a staff of nearly 1,200. Niebuszewo-Bolinko is a municipal neighbourhood of the city of Szczecin, Poland, in Śródmieście (Centre) District, north of the Szczecin Old Town. As of January 2011, it had a population of 22,403.

The 1962 Szczecin military parade of October 9, 1962, led to a road traffic accident in which a tank of the Polish People's Army crushed bystanders, killing seven children and injuring many more. The resultant panic in the crowd led to further injuries in the rush to escape. The incident was covered up for many years by the Polish communist authorities.

The Province of Pomerania (German: Provinz Pommern; Polish: Prowincja Pomorze) was a province of Prussia from 1815 to 1945. Pomerania was established as a province of the Kingdom of Prussia in 1815, an expansion of the older Brandenburg-Prussia province of Pomerania, and then became part of the German Empire in 1871. From 1918, Pomerania was a province of the Free State of Prussia until it was dissolved in 1945 following World War II, and its territory divided between Poland and Allied-occupied Germany. The city of Stettin (present-day Szczecin, Poland) was the provincial capital.

Szczecin is adjacent to the town of Police and is the urban centre of the Szczecin agglomeration, an extended metropolitan area that includes communities in the German states of Brandenburg and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Szczecin is the administrative and industrial centre of West Pomeranian Voivodeship and is the site of the University of Szczecin, Pomeranian Medical University, Maritime University, West Pomeranian University of Technology, Szczecin Art Academy, and the see of the Szczecin-Kamień Catholic Archdiocese. The city's historical landmarks include the Szczecin Cathedral, the Pomeranian Dukes' Castle and the National Museum. From 1999 onwards, Szczecin has served as the site of the headquarters of NATO's Multinational Corps Northeast. The city was a candidate for the European Capital of Culture in 2016.
