Perarolo di Cadore

Cadore (Italian pronunciation: [kaˈdoːre]; Ladin: Ciadòre; Venetian: Cadór or, rarely, Cadòria; Austrian German: Cadober or Kadober; Sappada German: Kadour; Friulian: Cjadovri) is a historical region in the Italian region of Veneto, in the northernmost part of the province of Belluno bordering on Austria, the Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol and Friuli-Venezia Giulia. It is watered by the Piave River which has its source in the Carnic Alps. Once an undeveloped and poor district, the former contado (countship) of Cadore now has a thriving economy based on tourism and a small manufacturing industry, specialising in the production of glasses. The celebrated Renaissance painter Titian was born in Cadore, probably in 1488–90, one of a family of four born to Gregorio Vecelli, a distinguished councillor and soldier descended from the counts. The painter's birthplace in Pieve di Cadore, in a locality named Arsenale between the castle and the village Sotto Castello, is open to visitors. Titian's wife, Cecilia, was also born in Cadore, the daughter of a barber.

The Boite (Cadorino dialect, Guóite) is a river of the Province of Belluno, Veneto region, northern Italy. Passing through the town of Cortina d'Ampezzo, it joins the Piave at Perarolo di Cadore. The principal valley, that of the Piave, runs parallel to the mountain chain which separates the province of Belluno from the basin of the Adige. The secondary valleys, which complete the river basin, are, in descending order and on the right bank, those of Visdende, Comelico Superiore, Auronzo, Boite and Zoldo, traversed, respectively, by the Silvella, or first branch of the Piave, the Padola, Ansiei, Boite, and Mae, which all flow into the main river in a rectangular direction.

Valle di Cadore is a comune (municipality) in the province of Belluno in the Italian region of Veneto, located about 110 km (68 mi) north of Venice and about 35 km (22 mi) northeast of Belluno. Valle is part of the Cadore Valley, not far from the Antelao peak, 3,264 metres (10,709 ft) above sea level. The main attraction is the Renaissance Palazzo Costantini Lanza.

Pieve di Cadore is a comune (municipality) in the province of Belluno in the Italian region of Veneto, about 110 kilometres (68 miles) north of Venice and about 35 km (22 miles) northeast of Belluno. "Pieve" means "Parish church". It is the birthplace of the Italian painter Titian.With its strategic location, the town was a medieval stronghold with fortifications, called the "walled city of the Veneto." The main sight is the Palazzo della Magnifica Comunità ("Palace of the Magnificent Community"), built in 1447 by the eponymous council which then ruled the city. It has a merloned tower which was completed in 1491.

The Centro Cadore lake, or more simply Cadore lake, is an artificial body of water located in the historical-geographical region of Cadore, along the upper course of the Piave river. The 2.3 km² basin originated in the 1950s with the construction of the Pieve di Cadore dam, in the Sottocastello area. Narrow and long in shape with a south-north orientation, it reaches the town of Lozzo di Cadore, also involving the municipalities of Calalzo di Cadore, Domegge di Cadore and Lorenzago di Cadore.

Calalzo di Cadore is a municipality of 2,400 inhabitants of the province of Belluno, in the Italian region of Veneto. The name Calalzo derives from the Latin altus callis, meaning "high place." The geographical name "di Cadore" was added by Presidential Decree on 30 June 1959.

Domegge di Cadore is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Belluno in the Italian region of Veneto, located about 120 kilometres (75 mi) north of Venice and about 40 kilometres (25 mi) northeast of Belluno.

Marmarole is a mountain group of the Dolomites in Belluno, northern Italy. Located west of the Cadore Valley and north-east of the major peak of Antelao, it is known as a wild range, possibly the wildest of the entire Dolomites, due to the relative difficulty of climbing its peaks and its isolation from nearby valleys. Conversely, it is a popular destination for experienced hikers and alpinists. The highest peak of the Marmarole is the Cimon del Froppa which reaches 2,932 m.

Cimon del Froppa (2,932m) is the highest peak of the Marmarole range in the Dolomites in Veneto, north-eastern Italy. The mountain is rarely climbed, as it is somewhat overshadowed by its higher neighbours Antelao and Sorapiss. The usual route is from the south.

Monte Cridola is a mountain of the Veneto, Italy. It has an elevation of 2581 metres. It is located on the border between the provinces of Belluno and Udine.
