Balga Senior High School is a public co-educational high day school, located on Markham Way in the suburb of Balga, 13 kilometres (8.1 mi) north of Perth, Western Australia. Established in 1970, the school caters for students from Year 7 to Year 12.

Westminster is a suburb approximately 12 kilometres north of Perth, Western Australia. Its local government area is the City of Stirling. Westminster was formerly the southern part of Balga but was renamed in 1995 at the request of residents. This was the name of the original estate that existed before residential subdivision. Between 1936 and 1955, a limestone road named "Westminster Boulevard" passed through the area. Westminster is served by a small shopping centre, Stirling Central. The area is home to public and private primary schools and also contains a number of recreational areas. Regular bus services serve Westminster along Wanneroo Road and through the middle of the suburb. The suburb is served by a number of Transperth bus routes operated by Path Transit and Swan Transit - including the 371, 375, 386 and 415 routes.

John Septimus Roe Anglican Community School (abbreviated as JSRACS or JSR) is an independent Anglican co-educational primary and secondary day school, located in Perth, Western Australia. The school is named after the notable West Australian and first Surveyor-General of Western Australia, John Septimus Roe. It is the largest member of the Anglican Schools Commission and is also noted for having the longest name of any school in Western Australia.

Mercy College is an independent Roman Catholic co-educational primary and high day school located in the Perth suburb of Koondoola, Western Australia. Mercy College caters for 1550 students from kindergarten to Year 12. Mercy College draws on its history as a part of the journey of the Sisters of Mercy, founded by Catherine McAuley. The school was established by the Sisters of Mercy in 1972. The college's aim is to offer a Christian and general education which will provide for the spiritual, intellectual, physical, emotional and social needs of its students. Dianella Secondary College (formerly Mirrabooka Senior High School) is a public co-educational high day school, located in Dianella in the northern suburbs of Perth, Western Australia. It teaches years 7 to 12 in the Australian education system, and has around 600 students. Mirrabooka Senior High School opened in 1965. In 2017 it changed its name to Dianella Secondary College.The school also has a Education Support Centre for those with disabilities and other children that needs support.

Nollamara is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia. Its local government area is the City of Stirling. The name "Nollamara" is a Noongar word for the flowering plant Macropidia, commonly known as the black kangaroo paw.The suburb is less than 10 km (6.2 mi) away from the Perth central business district and is approximately 11 km (6.8 mi) from Trigg beach. Previously known as a lower income area, Nollamara has gone through a period of gentrification over the past decade that continues on to this day. Older homes are being replaced with new townhomes and there has been a surge in young families and professionals populating the suburb. The area is characterized by extensive trees, parks and recreational facilities. The newly renovated Des Penman Reserve is a good example of this as it includes tennis, soccer, lawn-bowls, playground, shaded lunch areas and BBQ facilities. Parts of Nollamara are elevated, providing views of surrounding neighborhoods. Nollamara borders prominent areas such as Yokine and Dianella that are host to multimillion-dollar homes. A newly developed Flinders Street and Wanneroo Road provide easy access to Leederville, Subiaco, Northbridge and the Perth CBD.

Koondoola is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located within the City of Wanneroo. Its postcode is 6064. Most of Koondoola's infrastructure was built in the 1970s. For example, two of the area's focal points, Koondoola Primary School and Koondoola Plaza, were built in 1975 and 1978 respectively. Prior to the 1970s a large portion of Koondoola had been a regional landfill facility. Also in Koondoola is the small but progressive Waddington Primary School, overlooking local bushland. Koondoola, like much of the northern suburbs, has a history of sporting clubs. In 1975 Koondoola Junior Football Club was formed, followed two years later by Koondoola Junior Soccer Club (1977). Similarly around this time Koondoola Junior Cricket Club was formed. Koondoola Junior Football Club had its grounds located at Koondoola Park, as did Koondoola Junior Cricket Club. Both clubs have since merged with Girrawheen. Koondoola Junior Soccer Club was first located at Butterworth Reserve, but moved to Shelvock Reserve in 1983. This was the club's final year of operation.

It is a primarily middle-class suburb made up of mainly Italian, Greek and Macedonian families, as well as many families from other European countries. It is also one of the largest suburbs in the northern part of the Perth metropolitan area. Much of Balcatta is a commercial and industrial area.
