Liversedge railway station

The Old Town Hall is a former municipal building in Knowler Hill in Liversedge, West Yorkshire, England. The building, which formerly operated as the offices of Liversedge Urban District Council, is now used as private residential accommodation.

Spen Valley is a parliamentary constituency in the valley of the River Spen in the West Riding of Yorkshire. It returns one Member of Parliament (MP) to the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. Further to the completion of the 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies, the seat was re-established for the 2024 general election, formed primarily from the (abolished) constituency of Batley and Spen.

Historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, much of the town centre was demolished in the 1960s for road widening. Although local residents always refer to it as a town, its size and population are similar to that of a village. Although it is literally a little town the place name is reputedly named after a Mr Little.

Spen Valley High School is a high school situated in Liversedge, West Yorkshire, England.The school's proportion of pupils who do not have learning difficulties and/or disabilities and those who have a statement of special educational needs exceeds the national average. The 15 - 20% of pupils from minority ethnic backgrounds are predominantly of Pakistani heritage. The proportion of pupils not entitled to free school meals is slightly under the national average. The school gained specialist status as a sports college in 2004. Artsmark and Sportsmark status are also held by the school, and in 2006 it was re-accredited as Investors in People.

Liversedge is a town and former parish of Birstall, in the metropolitan borough of Kirklees, West Yorkshire, England. Historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, Liversedge lies between Cleckheaton and Heckmondwike. The Kirklees ward is now called Liversedge and Gomersal with a population at the 2011 Census of 19,420. Liversedge forms part of the Heavy Woollen District.

Spenborough was, from 1915 to 1974, a local government district in the administrative county of Yorkshire, West Riding, England. Spenborough was created as an urban district in 1915 by the merger of Cleckheaton, Gomersal and Liversedge urban districts. The amalgamation was carried out on the instigation of Cleckheaton Urban District Council, in order to resist plans by the County Borough of Bradford to annex the area. The name "Spenborough", after the River Spen, was also suggested by Cleckheaton UDC. The district was expanded in 1937 by taking in the abolished Birkenshaw and Hunsworth urban districts, as well as part of the parishes of Clifton and Hartshead from the Halifax Rural District. Attempts to incorporate neighbouring Heckmondwike which is considered to be in the Spen Valley area, were never successful. On 29 July 1955, it was granted a charter of incorporation creating it a municipal borough.In 1974, Spenborough was abolished under the Local Government Act 1972, with its area forming part of the Metropolitan Borough of Kirklees, West Yorkshire. Today, Kirklees Council recognises the former Spenborough borough area, with neighbouring Heckmondwike, as the Spen Valley Locality in its structure.

Healds Hall is a house in Liversedge, Yorkshire, now a hotel. It is listed at Grade II on the English Heritage Register. It was built in 1764 and was a private residence for several notable people. In 1926 it became the headquarters and museum for the Spen Valley Literary and Scientific Society. It is now a hotel, restaurant and function venue.

Norristhorpe has a primary school, an Anglican church, and a United Reformed Church. A Methodist chapel, built in 1906, was closed in 2004 and is now a private house.

Liversedge F.C. is a football club based in Cleckheaton, England, on the border with Hightown in Liversedge. They are currently members of the Northern Premier League Premier Division. Liversedge play their home games at Clayborn, which features a clubhouse to the top west corner of the ground, covered seating at the North, and a small covered-terracing stand to the West behind the goal. In 2017, Liversedge secured much-needed investment from Trevor Best, Managing Director and Founder of Corpad. Best managed Liversedge in the 1990s, and is their current chairman.
