As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 475 and an area of 23.6 square kilometres (9.1 sq mi).Piazzatorre borders the following municipalities: Branzi, Isola di Fondra, Mezzoldo, Moio de' Calvi, Olmo al Brembo, Piazzolo, Valleve.
