Waterloo railway station (French: Gare de Waterloo, Dutch: Station Waterloo), officially Waterloo, is a railway station in Waterloo, Walloon Brabant, Belgium. The station opened on 1 February 1874 and is located on railway line 124. The train services are operated by the National Railway Company of Belgium (SNCB/NMBS). The station is large, with platforms able to accommodate trains much longer than any currently scheduled to operate to (or through) the station. It is fully staffed, with the booking office open seven days a week. The railway line between Nivelles-Waterloo-Linkebeek (south of Brussels) is currently being enlarged to allow a higher frequency of local and intercity trains.

ISF Waterloo (International School of Flanders) is an international school for young people aged 2 ½ to 18. It is a member of the European Council for International Schools. The campus is located south of Brussels right on the border between the communes of Sint-Genesius-Rode and Waterloo. It currently has over 200 students enrolled, from 49 different nationalities, meaning that classes are usually small (around 18 students) . Every one of the teachers is trained in English as an Additional Language. French is taught daily to every student. In 2015, ISF Waterloo has become the first Google for Education School in Belgium. Students access the learning resources on the Google platform using Chromebooks, tablets, and also the Interactive Whiteboard which is installed in every classroom. The school follows the International Primary Curriculum in Primary School. The Middle and High School students take the Cambridge International examinations. The school sits on the site of the former World International School, which provided an international education in English for pupils aged 2½ to 18. It closed in 2012. In 2021, ISF Waterloo has gained accreditation from Council of International Schools, which took five years to achieve, and also from Council of British International Schools.

The station is located on the line number 124, from Brussels-South to Charleroi-South, located in the municipality of Braine-l'Alleud in the province of Walloon Brabant in the Walloon Region. It was open for service in 1874 by the Belgian administration of Railways. It is a station of the Belgian railways (SNCB/NMBS), it is served by the following types of trains: InterCity (IC), S Train (S) and Peak hour trains (P).

The municipality consists of the following districts: Braine-l'Alleud (including the hamlet of Sart-Moulin), Lillois-Witterzée, and Ophain-Bois-Seigneur-Isaac. Bordering Flanders, the town is home to a minority of Dutch speakers. The famous Lion of Waterloo, where the eponymous battle took place, is in the territory of Braine-l'Alleud.

Sint-Genesius-Rode (Dutch: [sɪnt xeːˌneːzijʏs ˈroːdə] (listen); French: Rhode-Saint-Genèse, pronounced [ʁɔd sɛ̃ ʒənɛːz] (listen)) is a municipality located in Flanders, one of three regions of Belgium, in the province of Flemish Brabant. The municipality comprises the town of Sint-Genesius-Rode only, and lies between Brussels and Waterloo in Wallonia. On January 1, 2008, the town had a total population of 18,021. The total area is 22.77 square kilometres (8.79 sq mi), which gives a population density of 791 per square kilometre (2,050/sq mi).
