Scott Field Historic District

Scott Air Force Base (IATA: BLV, ICAO: KBLV, FAA LID: BLV) is a United States Air Force base in St. Clair County, Illinois, near Belleville and O'Fallon, 17 miles (27 km) east-southeast of downtown St. Louis. Scott Field was one of 32 Air Service training camps established after the United States entered World War I in April 1917. It is headquarters of Air Mobility Command (AMC) and its showcase wing, and it is also the headquarters of the U.S. Transportation Command, a Unified Combatant Command that coordinates transportation across all the services.The base is operated by the 375th Air Mobility Wing (375 AMW) and is also home to the Air Force Reserve Command's 932d Airlift Wing (932 AW) and the Illinois Air National Guard's 126th Air Refueling Wing (126 ARW), the latter two units being operationally gained by AMC. The base currently employs 13,000 people, 5,100 civilians with 5,500 active-duty Air Force, and an additional 2,400 Air National Guard and Reserve personnel. It was announced in June 2014 that two new cybersecurity squadrons will be added to the three currently on base. Its airfield is also used by civilian aircraft, with civilian operations at the base referring to the facility as MidAmerica St. Louis Airport. MidAmerica has operated as a Joint Use Airport since beginning operations in November 1997.

Shiloh–Scott station is a St. Louis MetroLink station in Shiloh, Illinois, adjacent to Scott Air Force Base, after which the station is named. This station is the eastern terminus of the MetroLink system. It opened on June 23, 2003, as part of Phase 2 of the St. Clair County Extension, which extended MetroLink 3.5 miles (5.6 km) from College to Shiloh–Scott.The Shiloh-Scott station is the terminus for the St. Clair County Transit District's 14-mile (23 km) MetroBikeLink shared-use path system. The 2.9-mile (4.7 km) segment connecting the College station to Shiloh-Scott was opened in 2017.

Shiloh Valley Township is located in St. Clair County, Illinois. As of the 2010 census, its population was 11,631 and it contained 4,284 housing units. Shiloh Valley Township was originally called Shiloh before its name was changed on an unknown date.

MidAmerica St. Louis Airport (IATA: BLV, ICAO: KBLV, FAA LID: BLV) is a public use airport next to Scott Air Force Base. It is located 18 nautical miles (33 km; 21 mi) east of downtown St. Louis and 14 nmi (26 km; 16 mi) east of the central business district of Belleville in St. Clair County, Illinois, United States. Opened in 1997, MidAmerica is the secondary domestic passenger airport for the Greater St. Louis metropolitan area, after the larger St. Louis Lambert International Airport. It is a joint-use airport and is currently served by one airline, Allegiant Air. The airport had 152,278 passenger enplanements in 2018 (302,000 total passengers), according to the Federal Aviation Administration. It was included in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2017–21, which categorized it as a primary commercial service airport because it surpassed 10,000 annual enplanements. It is the fifth-busiest of the 12 commercial airports In Illinois.

The Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC) is the Army Service Component Command of the U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) and is a major subordinate command to Army Materiel Command (AMC). This relationship links USTRANSCOM's Joint Deployment and Distribution Enterprise and AMC's Materiel Enterprise. The command also partners with the commercial transportation industry as the coordinating link between DOD surface transportation requirements and the capability industry provides.

MidAmerica St. Louis Airport station is an under construction St. Louis MetroLink station in Mascoutah, Illinois, adjacent to MidAmerica St. Louis Airport, after which the station is named. When opened, this station will be the eastern terminus of the MetroLink system. It is scheduled to open in spring 2025 as part of a 5.2-mile (8.4 km) expansion of the Red Line from Shiloh–Scott station.

College station is a St. Louis MetroLink station. This station serves Southwestern Illinois College and the Green Mount Commons shopping center on the eastern edge of Belleville, Illinois. It is also a large commuter station featuring 598 park and ride spaces and 25 long-term spaces.

O'Fallon Township High School is a public secondary school in O'Fallon, Illinois. In 2009, OTHS was ranked 49th out of the top 100 high schools in Illinois by the Chicago Sun Times.As of 2023, it is the second largest public high school in Illinois by enrollment outside of the Chicago area (Belleville High School-East being the largest).

Boasting 6500 square feet, the William and Florence Schmidt Art Center, located on the Belleville campus of Southwestern Illinois College, facilitates visual literacy through exhibitions of art and cultural artifacts while inspiring, informing, and connecting the college and community. With changing exhibits throughout the year, it showcases the art created by professional artists from around the country and local high school and college artists who are just beginning their journey in the art world. In addition, the Schmidt Art Center hosts cultural events in conjunction with professional artists, poets, and musicians. Owning over nine hundred works of art, the Schmidt Art Center boasts the most extensive collection held by any two-year college in Illinois, including paintings, photographs, sculptures, and artifacts. The collection was mostly acquired through private donations and funds from the Illinois Art in Architecture program.Owned by Southwestern Illinois College, The Schmidt operates under its Foundation and may be rented for private events.

Southwestern Illinois College is a public community college in Illinois with campuses in Belleville, Granite City, and Red Bud. It also has off-campus sites throughout the district, including Scott Air Force Base and the East St. Louis Community College Center.
