MidAmerica St. Louis Airport

The Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC) is the Army Service Component Command of the U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) and is a major subordinate command to Army Materiel Command (AMC). This relationship links USTRANSCOM's Joint Deployment and Distribution Enterprise and AMC's Materiel Enterprise. The command also partners with the commercial transportation industry as the coordinating link between DOD surface transportation requirements and the capability industry provides.

MidAmerica St. Louis Airport station is an under construction St. Louis MetroLink station in Mascoutah, Illinois, adjacent to MidAmerica St. Louis Airport, after which the station is named. When opened, this station will be the eastern terminus of the MetroLink system. It is scheduled to open in spring 2025 as part of a 5.2-mile (8.4 km) expansion of the Red Line from Shiloh–Scott station.

Scott Field Historic District began as a World War I era air base built in 1917 near O'Fallon, Illinois, and was expanded and rebuilt before World War II. The district contains primarily that portion of the base built prior to 1941, and is now contained within the renamed, expanded, and operational Scott Air Force Base. The district boundaries include 107 contributing buildings and structures, and exclude post-1945 buildings built in the areas surrounding the 1917 Main Base area.Scott Field was named after Corporal Frank S. Scott, the first enlisted member of the United States Armed Forces to die in an aircraft accident.The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.

Scott Air Force Base (IATA: BLV, ICAO: KBLV, FAA LID: BLV) is a United States Air Force base in St. Clair County, Illinois, near Belleville and O'Fallon, 17 miles (27 km) east-southeast of downtown St. Louis. Scott Field was one of 32 Air Service training camps established after the United States entered World War I in April 1917. It is headquarters of Air Mobility Command (AMC) and its showcase wing, and it is also the headquarters of the U.S. Transportation Command, a Unified Combatant Command that coordinates transportation across all the services.The base is operated by the 375th Air Mobility Wing (375 AMW) and is also home to the Air Force Reserve Command's 932d Airlift Wing (932 AW) and the Illinois Air National Guard's 126th Air Refueling Wing (126 ARW), the latter two units being operationally gained by AMC. The base currently employs 13,000 people, 5,100 civilians with 5,500 active-duty Air Force, and an additional 2,400 Air National Guard and Reserve personnel. It was announced in June 2014 that two new cybersecurity squadrons will be added to the three currently on base. Its airfield is also used by civilian aircraft, with civilian operations at the base referring to the facility as MidAmerica St. Louis Airport. MidAmerica has operated as a Joint Use Airport since beginning operations in November 1997.

Shiloh Valley Township is located in St. Clair County, Illinois. As of the 2010 census, its population was 11,631 and it contained 4,284 housing units. Shiloh Valley Township was originally called Shiloh before its name was changed on an unknown date.

Shiloh–Scott station is a St. Louis MetroLink station in Shiloh, Illinois, adjacent to Scott Air Force Base, after which the station is named. This station is the eastern terminus of the MetroLink system. It opened on June 23, 2003, as part of Phase 2 of the St. Clair County Extension, which extended MetroLink 3.5 miles (5.6 km) from College to Shiloh–Scott.The Shiloh-Scott station is the terminus for the St. Clair County Transit District's 14-mile (23 km) MetroBikeLink shared-use path system. The 2.9-mile (4.7 km) segment connecting the College station to Shiloh-Scott was opened in 2017.

The Berger-Kiel House is a log house located at 931 N. 6th St. in Mascoutah, Illinois. The house was built circa 1863-64 for German immigrant Jacob Berger and his family. The log house was built in a traditional manner using dovetail notching and has a hall and parlor layout. A wooden frame addition was placed on the house circa 1868–72. Log houses such as this one were popular among low-income families as an inexpensive house type in wooded rural areas. The Berger-Kiel House is one of the few log houses remaining in the Mascoutah area. While it was originally located at 8910 Illinois Route 4, it was moved to its current site during the construction of MidAmerica St. Louis Airport.The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 12, 1999.

Lebanon High School is the public high school of Lebanon Community Unit School District 9 in Lebanon, Illinois.

Lebanon is a city in St. Clair County, Illinois, United States. The population was 4,418 at the 2010 census and had decreased to an estimated 4,256 as of 2018. Like many other places in "Little Egypt" or Southern Illinois, Lebanon was named after the Eastern Mediterranean country of the same name. It is a part of the Metro-East region of the Greater St. Louis metropolitan area. Lebanon is home to McKendree University, the oldest college in Illinois.

The Lebanon Historic District is a historic district composed of the areas of Lebanon, Illinois, developed prior to 1900. The district includes five distinct areas of Lebanon: the city's main commercial district, the neighborhood around McKendree University, two residential districts, and an archaeological site at the city limits. Development in Lebanon began in the 1820s, and McKendree University was founded in 1828. The oldest building from this period, the Mermaid House Hotel, is a Federal structure dating to 1830. The city received an influx of German immigrants from the 1830s onward, which affected the city's development. In the 1850s and 1860s, a railroad opened in the city and several local industries developed; however, the city retained the character of a small college town and never developed into an industrial or trade center.The historic district was added to the National Register of Historic Places on October 4, 1978.

McKendree University (McK), formerly McKendree College, is a private university in Lebanon, Illinois. Founded in 1828 as the Lebanon Seminary, it is the oldest college or university in Illinois. The school was renamed McKendree University beginning in the 2007–08 academic year. McKendree enrolls approximately 1,960 students representing 25 countries and 29 states. In the undergraduate program, on average there are 51% females and 49% males. The institution remains affiliated with the United Methodist Church.

Mermaid House Hotel, located on East St. Louis Street in Lebanon, Illinois, was built in 1830 by the retired New England sea captain Lyman Adams. He named it for the mermaids he reported seeing at sea. The Mermaid House was visited by Charles Dickens in 1842 and received a mention in his book American Notes. The public-house was so very clean and good a one, that the managers of the jaunt resolved to return to it and put up there for the night, if possible. This course decided on, and the horses being well refreshed, we again pushed forward, and came upon the Prairie at sunset. Returning to Lebanon that night, we lay at the little inn at which we had halted in the afternoon. In point of cleanliness and comfort it would have suffered by no comparison with any English alehouse, of a homely kind, in England. The Mermaid House was added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 4, 1975.
