Takanini

The Takanini Gurdwara also referred to as Gurdwara Sri Kalgidhar Sahib, is the largest Sikh gurdwara in New Zealand.

Conifer Grove is an upper-middle class suburb of Auckland, in northern New Zealand. Located on the eastern shores of the Pahurehure Inlet, on the Manukau Harbour, under authority of the Auckland Council. The suburb makes up the western side of the Takanini urban area and is in the Manurewa-Papakura ward of Auckland City. The suburb is known for its tree-lined streets, bay views, and until 2018 its border with the Manukau Golf Course. It includes the recent Waiata Shores subdivision developed by Fletcher Living.

The Southern Path is a 4.5km off-road shared path linking Takanini and Papakura. The route runs along State Highway 1. It opened in 2021 and was built part of the Southern Corridor Improvements project.

Papakura Normal School is a coeducational state primary school of Papakura in Auckland, New Zealand. The school is located approximately 30 kilometres south of the Auckland City Centre, situated on the suburban boundary of Takanini and Papakura. The school educates children from years 0 to 8 (5-year-old to 12-year-old students). Papakura Normal School opened in 1953 as Papakura North School situated on the boundary of Papakura Military Camp. During 1958, the school's name North changed to Normal, The word Normal represents the word normale from the French language which means teaching school. At that time a models block was set up and operated as an independent "school within a school". This was to provide opportunities for trainee teachers to experience teaching in a small rural environment. The models block was closed in 2008 and Papakura Normal School went from a small rural school, to what is now known as a large, popular urban school. A new classroom block and administration area were built in 2007 next to the Walters Road entrance. An extensive upgrade to the school's buildings began in 2008 with the senior and models blocks being the first to be improved. The Junior block is due for upgrading in 2010. The school draws from a large range of socio-economic backgrounds, with 54% of the school's pupils being of Māori descent in July 2009. The school doesn't just have adult leaders it has school leaders and head boy/girl which is picked from year 8's picked by both students and teachers count. Papakura Normal has head students to guide the younger generation at their school and to create a bright road for both their learning and their hauora. The school's former Principal, Judy Morgan, retired in May 2017. Derek Linington was appointed tumuaki/principal in May 2017.

Randwick Park is an eastern residential suburb of the city of Auckland, New Zealand. The suburb had high unemployment and high crime rates in the early 2000s, but after a liquor store owner was killed in 2008, a residents' association was formed to improve local sports and community facilities, with support from the Manurewa Local Board and Auckland Council's Southern Initiative program. It was named the Mitre10 Community of the Year in 2017.

The Papakura Stream, also known as the Papakura Creek, is a major stream in South Auckland, in the Auckland Region of New Zealand's North Island. It flows south-west from near the Brookby to the Pahurehure Inlet of the Manukau Harbour. The stream forms the border between Manurewa and Papakura.

Tironui railway station was a station on the North Island Main Trunk in New Zealand, south of Auckland between Takanini railway station and Papakura railway station. It had a station building and a 92 m (302 ft) long, 42 cm (17 in) high platform. Electric light was added in 1933. According to Scoble, it was opened on 10 May 1926 and closed on 13 August 1983.The opening of the station added 2 minutes to the schedules of Auckland-Papakura trains. Puhinui, Homai and Te Mahia all opened at about the same time as Tironui, to cater for the expansion of Auckland's southern suburbs.The railway through Tironui was opened on 20 May 1875, as part of the Auckland and Mercer Railway, built by Brogden & Co, who extended it from Penrose. Duplication of the tracks between Papatoetoe and Papakura, through Tironui, started in 1929 as an employment relief scheme and was completed on 29 March 1931. It was electrified in 2015.The New Zealand Ministry for Culture and Heritage gives a translation of "expansive view" for Tironui.In 2015 Auckland Transport agreed to investigation of a potential station site at Tironui, which could be opened if growth requires it. Other potential new rail stations looked at were Paerata, Drury and Drury West.

Pararēkau Island is an island within the Pahurehure Inlet of the Manukau Harbour in Auckland, New Zealand. Pararēkau and Kōpuahingahinga Island are together known as the Hingaia Islands. It is connected to the mainland by a causeway which runs across Kōpuahingahinga Island. At around 20 hectares (49 acres) in size, it is the second largest island in the Manukau Harbour.

Manurewa East School is a Primary School (years 1–6) in Manurewa, a suburb of Manukau City, Auckland Region, New Zealand.

Alfriston College is a secondary school in the suburb of Alfriston in Auckland, New Zealand. The College opened in 2004, and along with Botany Downs Secondary College, was the first state secondary school to be built in Auckland in 25 years (the last was Macleans College in 1980). It opened with year 9 students and expanded to cover more senior classes each year as the original students aged. From 2008, all secondary years (9–13) have been taught.

Kōpuahingahinga Island is an island within the Pahurehure Inlet of the Manukau Harbour in Auckland, New Zealand. Kōpuahingahinga and Pararēkau Island, are together known as the Hingaia Islands. It covers an area of 8.0 hectares (20 acres), and is near the Drury Creek. It is privately owned, and connected to the mainland and to neighbouring Parerēkau Island by causeways.

Papakura Military Camp is a New Zealand Army military camp located in the Auckland suburb of Papakura North, in northern New Zealand. It is the home of the New Zealand Special Air Service.
