Smíchov City

Staropramen Brewery (Pivovary Staropramen s.r.o.) in the Smíchov district of Prague is the second largest brewery in the Czech Republic. It was founded in 1869 and the brand name Staropramen, literally meaning “old spring”, was registered in 1911. It is owned by Molson Coors and its products are exported to 37 different countries, mostly in Europe and North America.

Smíchovské nádraží (Czech pronunciation: [ˈsmiːxofskɛː ˈnaːdraʒiː]) is a Prague Metro station on Line B. It serves the Smíchov railway station. The station was opened on 2 November 1985, as the southern terminus of the inaugural section of Line B between Sokolovská and Smíchovské nádraží. On 26 October 1988, Line B was extended further to Nové Butovice.

The Golden Angel (Czech: Zlatý Anděl) is an administrative complex situated in Prague. The designer was French architect Jean Nouvel.The structure is located in the immediate vicinity of The Angel Crossroad (Křižovatka Anděl) which was named after The Golden Angel's Pharmacy (Lékárna U Zlatého Anděla). The pharmacy as well as its symbol - gilded statue of an angel - was demolished in 1980 to make a room for new subway station.

Anděl is a neighbourhood in Prague 5's central district of Smíchov, centered on a busy interchange. The name means 'angel' in Czech and originates from the 19th century U zlatého anděla (Golden Angel) pub originally named after a fresco in the gable depicting an angel. The painting of an angel was preserved after its demolition and is now displayed nearby the metro station entrance. Anděl is an important traffic center. Prague Metro's Line B runs beneath it, Anděl Station serving the area. Tramway lines in north–south and east–west direction cross there (lines 4, 6, 7, 9, 10, 12, 14 and 20). Otherwise, it is a pedestrian zone. After a redevelopment in the late 1990s, when French architect Jean Nouvel designed an office building called Golden Angel (Zlatý Anděl) above the Metro station with a picture of an angel from the movie Wings of Desire and quotes from Rilke on its facade, Anděl became one of the busiest parts of the city, with many offices of national and international companies. Across it (in the north-west quadrant), one of Prague's biggest shopping malls, Nový Smíchov, can be found, including multiplex cinema Cinema City; another multiplex, Cinestar (former Village Cinemas), is nearby in the Anděl City complex. Smíchov Synagogue is also in the area.

Prague 5, formally the Prague Municipal District (Městská čast Praha 5), is a second-tier municipality in Prague. The administrative district (správní obvod) of the same name consists of municipal districts Prague 5 and Slivenec. Prague 5 is one of the largest districts of Prague located at the west side of the Vltava river. It comprises Smíchov, Radlice, Košíře, Barrandov, Zlíchov, Zličín, Jinonice, Hlubočepy, Motol, Slivenec, Butovice, Chuchle, and Klukovice, as well as a very small part of Malá Strana. The district was the first one in Prague that offered free wireless internet connection to its citizens. Prague 5 is growing more important since the reconstruction of Anděl on Smíchov. Now, Anděl is the heart of Prague 5, with thousands of offices and one big shopping mall. Also, the underground garages in Anděl are the biggest in Prague. Prague 5 is very easily accessible by public transport: Metro line B, dozens of tram lines and buses.

The Smíchov Synagogue is the only functionalist synagogue in Prague; it was reconstructed to this style in 1931. After the World War II, the building was used for secular purposes because the Smíchov Jewish community ceased to exist in the Shoah. In the present, the building is used for an archive of the Jewish Museum in Prague.

The College of International and Public Relations Prague (in Czech: Vysoká škola mezinárodních a veřejných vztahů Praha) is a private university in Prague, specializing in bachelor's and master's degrees in international and public relations. Since 2008 has established the Education and Consulting Institute in Bratislava, Slovakia (in Slovak: Vzdelávací a konzultačný inštitút v Bratislave, Slovenská republika). .

Praha-Smíchov railway station (Czech: Nádraží Praha-Smíchov, [ˈsmiːxof]) is a major railway station in Prague, Czech Republic, located in Smíchov, in the south-west of the city. It serves as a major railway station on the Czech national rail network, and is connected to the rest of Prague by its metro station of the same name and numerous tram routes which stop on Nádražní street outside the station. It is also a major bus terminus for lines going to the south and southwest of Prague and beyond. In 2009 the station served almost 4 million people.The station was opened in 1862 as the terminus of the line linking Prague to Plzeň, operated by Česká Západní Dráha (Czech Western Railway). In 1872 and 1873, two more lines were built to the station, one from Hostivice and the other from Rudná. The present station building was built between 1953 and 1956 and designed by architects Jan Zázvorka and Ladislav Žák. All trains going from Prague towards Plzeň and Písek pass through Smíchov as the first stop after the more central hub, Praha hlavní nádraží. It is also used as a terminus for inter-regional trains serving cities in the east of the Czech Republic, which pass first through hlavní nádraží and terminate at Smíchov. The station has a separate area named Praha-Smíchov severní nástupiště (Praha-Smichov northern platforms) which is technically a separate station, though it is often shown on abridged timetables as "Praha-Smíchov". These platforms serve the Prague Semmering line to Hostivice, now integrated into Esko Prague system as line S65. The main station is further served by lines S6 and S7 of the Esko system.

Nový Smíchov is a shopping mall located west of the centre of Prague in the Czech Republic. It opened in 2001. The mall has a retail area of 60,000 square metres (650,000 sq ft). It is one of the biggest shopping centres in the Czech Republic.

Anděl (Czech pronunciation: [ˈanɟɛl], meaning "Angel") is a Prague Metro station on Line B. The station was built between 1977 and 1985, designed in the Soviet style, by Soviet architects and dedicated to the Czechoslovak–Soviet friendship. It was opened on 2 November 1985, as part of the inaugural section of Line B between Sokolovská and Smíchovské nádraží. The station was renamed in 1990 to Anděl, after the nearby Anděl neighborhood. At present it is one of the busiest stations on line B. Its original name was Moskevská, after the city of Moscow. In the same year the Czechoslovak Metrostav designed the station Prazhskaya, named after Prague, it was opened on the Serpukhovsko-Timiryazevskaya Line of the Moscow Metro, which resembles the ceramic-tiled stations on the C line's Jižní Město segment. The Anděl station still contains one of the last pieces of propaganda art promoting Czechoslovak-Soviet friendship.Anděl station has two exits, leading to the two underground vestibules. One vestibule is directly in the Anděl neighborhood, next to the shopping mall and the other is at "Na Knížecí", a large bus station serving as a terminus for local and intercity buses. The station was renovated in 2015.

Smíchov (German: Smichow) is (since 1909) a district of Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, and is part of Prague 5. It is on the west bank of the Vltava river.

Smichov Secondary Technical School (Czech: Smíchovská střední průmyslová škola, SSPŠ) is a secondary school based in the capital city of the Czech Republic Prague, Smíchov. It was founded in 1901 and now has over 600 students in 20 classes. Currently, the courses of Information technology, Cyber Security and Technical Lyceum are taught here. Students specialize in various sub-disciplines such as application development, virtual and augmented reality, Cyber Security, Multimedia, Internet of things, Robotics and Web applications.
