Cody is an unincorporated community in western Jefferson County, Florida, United States. It is west of Wacissa near the Leon County/Jefferson County line. WGLF (104.1 FM) is a classic hits radio station in the Tallahassee, Florida, market owned by Cumulus Licensing LLC. Its studios are located in the westside of Tallahassee and its transmitter is based east of the city near Lloyd, Florida. Although based in Tallahassee, WGLF can be heard all the way into the Tifton, Georgia, and Lake City, Florida markets. WGLF has been broadcasting since the spring of 1970 and is the longest-running FM rock radio station in the state of Florida since late 1988. Prior to it, it was one out of the 2 dominant Top 40/CHR stations for the Tallahassee market. After becoming an AOR format in late 1988, WFHT (now WWOF, known as Z103) became the main dominant Top 40 station for the Tallahassee market until 1995. WGLF was one of the first four FM stations in the Tallahassee market along with WOMA, WBGM, and WOWD.

Capps is an unincorporated community in Jefferson County, Florida, United States. It is located at the intersection of U.S. Routes 19 and 27. During the 1940s and 1950s, Capps was the headquarters of an agribusiness known as Tungston Plantation, owned by Everett P. Larsh, an industrialist from Dayton, Ohio, and managed by L. H. Crampton. Tungston plantation comprised a total of approximately 16,000 acres, of which about 8,000 acres was planted in tung trees. Each year, the tung nut was harvested and brought to the mill at Capps, and its contents processed into tung oil for use in paints, varnishes and other products. During those years, Tungston Plantation constituted the largest tung operation in the U.S. under single ownership.Capps is the location of the Asa May House, which is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

The Asa May House (also known as the Rosewood Plantation) is a historic house located along U.S. 19, between U.S. 27 and I-10 in Capps, Florida. The house is closer to US 27 than I-10.

St. Marks River State Park which opened in 2007, is the 161st Florida State Park, located about 10 miles east of Tallahassee, south of U.S. Highway 27. The park's 2,589 acres occupy parts of Jefferson and Leon counties and act as a buffer from development for the St. Marks River.

The Chaires Community Historic District is a U.S. historic district (designated as such on December 13, 2000) located in Chaires, Florida. The district runs roughly along Chaires Cross Road, Road to the Lake, and Hancock Street. It contains 15 historic buildings. With the exception of a brick Romanesque Revival Chaires Elementary School, the buildings in the district are of wooden vernacular construction. The school, built in 1929, was designed by Tallahassee architect Alvin R. Moore. Moore was also the architect of the Chipley City Hall, built in 1928.

Chaires Elementary School, formerly The Chaires School, is an elementary school located in the unincorporated community of Chaires, Florida in eastern Leon County. Under the name Station One School, it appeared in Leon County School Board minutes in the 1870s. At that time, it served grades 1–10. It was racially segregated and served only white students.
