National Palace Museum

The Shung Ye Museum of Formosan Aborigines (Chinese: 順益臺灣原住民博物館; pinyin: Shùnyì Táiwān Yuánzhùmín Bówùguǎn) is a museum located just 200 meters diagonally across from the National Palace Museum in Shilin District, Taipei, Taiwan. It houses exhibits relating to the cultures and histories of the Taiwanese aborigines. The aboriginal tribes live mainly in the mountainous east and south of Taiwan and have historically spoken a variety of Austronesian languages, so it was thought important to have a central location in the capital where their cultures could be on display. Both permanent and rotating exhibits are a part of the museum.

The Chinese Culture and Movie Center (Chinese: 中影文化城; pinyin: Zhōngyǐng Wénhuàchéng) is a former movie studio and tourist attraction located in the Shilin District of Taipei, Taiwan. It is owned by the Central Motion Picture Corporation. In its early period, it functioned as a film and TV drama filming location and studio. After the Republic of China government lifted martial law, many of the TV dramas and movies produced by the Center began filming in Hong Kong and mainland China. The Chinese Culture and Movie Center closed indefinitely in 2008.

Taiwan Seminary or Taiwan Theological College and Seminary or Taiwan Graduate School of Theology, also known as 'Taishen' (Chinese: 台灣神學院; pinyin: Táiwān shénxuéyuàn, Taiwanese: Tâi-oân Sîn-ha̍k-ī) is a private Presbyterian educational institution in Taipei, Taiwan. It constitutes one of three seminaries of the Presbyterian Church of Taiwan, along with Tainan Theological College and Seminary (in Tainan) and Yushan Theological Seminary in Hualien.

Soochow University (Chinese: 東吳大學) is a private university in Taipei, Taiwan. Soochow University maintains a church and a Methodist minister in residence, though it may be considered a secular institution. The university is noted for studies in comparative law and accounting.

The Chien Mu House (traditional Chinese: 錢穆故居; simplified Chinese: 钱穆故居; pinyin: Qiánmù Gùjū) is a former house of Ch'ien Mu in Shilin District, Taipei, Taiwan. The house is located inside Soochow University and managed by the university.

The Lin Yutang House (traditional Chinese: 林語堂故居; simplified Chinese: 林语堂故居; pinyin: Lín Yǔtáng Gùjū) is a former residence in Shilin District, Taipei, Taiwan that belonged to Lin Yutang.

Soochow University School of Law is one of the oldest law schools in Taiwan. It is part of Soochow University. It enjoyed the high reputation of "Chaoyang in the North, Soo Chow in the South" amongst Chinese law schools. It is dedicated to legal professional education, National law and Anglo-American law. This is the first comparative law school in Asia, and actively cultivates comparative law and the international law professionals.

Taipei Adventist American School (TAAS) is a private foreign-registered elementary school with an American-based curriculum located on Yangming Shan (陽明山) in the Shihlin District of Taipei City, Taiwan. It is administered under the Northern Asia-Pacific Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Shih Chien University (USC; Chinese: 實踐大學; pinyin: Shíjiàn Dàxué; lit. 'Practitioner University') is a private university in Taiwan. It is considered one of the top schools in the field of Art & Design in Taiwan and the world and ranked no. 7 for internationalization in the 2018 Taiwan university ranking by Global Views. Its professional performance and courses in design have led to its inclusion among the "60 top D-schools in the world" by BusinessWeek in 2006. The School of Art & Design was ranked among the top 100-150 in the world by the QS World University Rankings.. It has two campuses: one in Dazhi, Zhongshan District, Taipei and the other in Neimen District, Kaohsiung.

The Shuangxi Park and Chinese Garden (Chinese: 雙溪公園; pinyin: Shuāngxī Gōngyuán) is a park and garden located in Shilin District, Taipei, Taiwan on Zhishan Road. The total area of the park is 2 hectares. Built in 1974 the southern Chinese courtyard style architecture. It features pavilions, courtyards, arch bridges, zig-zag bridges, and corridors. The landscape layout and construction was completed by Hu Guoli (胡國禮)

The 2014 Taipei Metro attack was a mass stabbing spree that took place on 21 May 2014, directed at random civilians on a Taipei Metro train near Jiangzicui Station, resulting in four deaths and 24 injuries. It was the first fatal attack on the city's subway system since operations began in 1996. The suspected attacker, Cheng Chieh, then 21, was arrested after the attack. He was sentenced to 144 years in prison and four death sentences, and was executed on 10 May 2016.

The Taipei Metro Tucheng station is a station on the Bannan Line located in Tucheng District, New Taipei, Taiwan. It will soon be a transfer station with the Wanda–Zhonghe–Shulin line in 2028, where the station is aboveground instead of underground.
