Aberdeen Hutcheon Street railway station served the city of Aberdeen, Aberdeen City, Scotland from 1887 to 1937 on the Denburn Valley Line.

George Street is a street in the city of Aberdeen, Scotland. At its northern end it meets the area of Kittybrewster and connects to the A96 road. Running south and slightly east, George Street heads towards the city centre. Dominated by mixed-use development there are a variety of commercial units serving the area.

The Battle of Aberdeen was fought on 14 May 1646 during the Wars of the Three Kingdoms. George, Marquis of Huntly the commander of a Royalist army, defeated a force of Covenanters under the command of Hugh, Lord Montgomerie.

Since the discovery of North Sea oil in 1969, Aberdeen has been known as the offshore oil capital of Europe. Based upon the discovery of prehistoric villages around the mouths of the rivers Dee and Don, the area around Aberdeen has been thought to have been settled for at least 6,000 years.Aberdeen received royal burgh status from David I of Scotland (1124–1153), which transformed the city economically. The traditional industries of fishing, paper-making, shipbuilding, and textiles have been overtaken by the oil industry and Aberdeen's seaport. Aberdeen Heliport is one of the busiest commercial heliports in the world, and the seaport is the largest in the north-east part of Scotland. There are two universities in Aberdeen: the University of Aberdeen, founded in 1495 and located in Old Aberdeen, and Robert Gordon University which is located in Garthdee area and received university status in 1992. In 2012, HSBC named Aberdeen as a leading business hub and one of eight 'super cities' spearheading the UK's economy, marking it as the only city in Scotland so designated. In 2018, Aberdeen was found to be the best city in the UK to start a business in a study released by card payment firm Paymentsense.

Kittybrewster (Scottish Gaelic: Cuidhe Briste) is an area within Aberdeen, Scotland, north of the city centre and roughly south-west of Old Aberdeen.

Bon Accord Free Church is a congregation of the Free Church of Scotland in Aberdeen.

Berryden is an area of Aberdeen quite near to the city centre. Berryden Retail Park is the main shopping destination in the north side of Aberdeen, with large chain store, smaller shops and a children's play centre. The retail park was purchased by Frasers Group in October 2020.Kittybrewster Retail Park is just a few minutes away, and houses similar retailers and services.

Royal Cornhill Hospital is a psychiatric hospital in Westburn Road, Aberdeen, Scotland. It is managed by NHS Grampian.

Woolmanhill Hospital was a health facility in the city centre of Aberdeen, Scotland. It was the original Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, a complex which opened in 1749 and was replaced by new facility at Foresterhill in 1936. After services transferred to Aberdeen Community Health and Care Village, the Foresterhill site and Woodend Hospital, the Woolmanhill Hospital closed in April 2017. The complex is centred on a neo-classical main block with later nineteenth century buildings to the rear. Unusually, it has remained largely complete, with later building having taken place at Foresterhill. It was managed by NHS Grampian.

There have been three Kittybrewster railway stations at Kittybrewster, Aberdeen. The first opened in 1854 as a terminus of the Great North of Scotland Railway's (GNoSR) first line to Huntly. This was replaced two years later by a station on a new line to a city terminus at Waterloo. It was replaced again when the Denburn Valley Line to Aberdeen Joint opened in 1867. The Great North of Scotland Railway amalgamated with other railways to form the London and North Eastern Railway in 1923 and became part of British Railways when the railways were nationalised in 1948. The station was recommended for closure by Dr Beeching's report "The Reshaping of British Railways" and closed on 6 May 1968. The line remains open as the Aberdeen to Inverness Line.

Aberdeen Kittybrewster station opened on 20 September 1854 to serve the Great North of Scotland Railway main line to Keith. It closed to passengers in 1856 once Aberdeen Waterloo opened and Kittybrewster (on the link to the Aberdeen Railway. The track remains in use as a freight siding for the docks.The station was 19 chains (380 m) south of the junction between the main line and the branch line to the docks, near where the A96 Powis Terrace now crosses the line.

The Central Library of Aberdeen in Scotland is located on Rosemount Viaduct and is the main library for the city.
