Canca, Goa

Punola is a small village or hamlet in the North Goa sub-district or taluka of Bardez. It is near the village panchayat of Ucassaim, and St. Elizabeth's Church lies just outsides its boundaries.

Guirim is a census town in North Goa district in the Indian state of Goa. For administrative purposes, however, it is considered to be a village, and has a village panchayat, which is the local administration of a village in parts of India. Guirim is located on the outskirts of the North Goa main commercial town of Mapusa (also spelt as Mapsa or Mapuca). It is the last village along the Panjim-Mapuca highway that one encounters prior to reaching Mapuca.

Hanuman Natya Graha is a prominent theatre centre, which hosts plays primarily in the Konkani and Marathi languages, in the North Goa commercial town of Mapusa.

Saraswat Vidyalaya is an educational institution located in Mapusa, Goa. It was founded in March 1911 by the Saraswat Education Society that looks after the high school with the feeder units of pre-primary and primary, also has Purushottam Walawalkar Higher Secondary School of Arts, Science, Commerce and College of Commerce. In June 1984, the society has established Swar-Shrungar, a music school where tabla, harmonium, flute and vocal music are taught. Besides the general streams, the higher secondary manages vocational courses in Auto Engineering Technology, Office Secretaryship/Stenography and Accountancy and Auditing, Floriculture and Landscaping. From June 1990, the management has established an Institute of Management and Human Resources Development that conducts short term job oriented courses. A new study center of Yeshwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University has also been added with the four year degree course in Horticulture. From June 2000 B.B.A degree course has been started that caters to the needs of youth from North Goa.

Verla is a village in the Bardez sub-district of Goa. It is located on the outskirts of Mapusa town. Verla has an area of 354.35 hectares (875.6 acres). At the 2011 official census of Goa, there were 858 households with a population of 3,685 (1,890 are males and 1,795 females). Its under-six population was 403 (206 boys and 197 girl)s.

Mapusa Municipal Market (also known as Mapusa Market and Mapusa Friday Market) is a traditional market in Mapusa, North Goa and a major tourist attraction. It was built in 1960, the first planned market in Goa. The market has three blocks with 164 shops, some of which have been sub-divided, so bringing the total to 173. It is open every day, except Sunday; and is particularly popular on Friday mornings.

St. Britto High School, Mapusa. commonly known as St. Britto or St. Britto's, is a private Catholic primary and secondary school for boys located in Mapusa, Goa, on the west coast of India. It was founded in 1946 and is run by the Society of Jesus (Jesuits). It is all-boys and includes grades one through ten. In 2017 all 142 graduates passed the secondary exam.

Agnel Institute of Technology and Design, Assagao is an Engineering College located in the village of Assagao in Bardez, India. It was established in the year 2012 and approved by AICTE and is affiliated with Goa University. The college is named after Fr. Agnelo. The college campus was designed by civil engineer Olavo Carvalho.The second campus of the Centre for Incubation and Business Acceleration (CIBA) was opened at AITD in 2015.

St. Xavier's College is a private Catholic university college located in the town of Mapusa (also spelt as Mapuca, Mapusa or Mapsa) in the district of North Goa, India. It is the largest and oldest college north of the Mandovi River in Goa, a state along the west coast of India. The college is accredited by the NAAC with a Grade "A", or CGPA 3.12 out of 4.

The Konkan (Konkani: कोंकण), also Concan or Kokan, is a stretch of land by the western coast of India, running from Damaon in the north to Anjediva in the south; with the Arabian Sea to the west and the Deccan plateau in the east. Tivim pronounced Thivim, is a village in Nathivim in Bardez, in the North Goa district of Goa, India. It is an important gateway into North Goa as the home to the major railway station in North Goa. Tivim was also the ancestral village of the first global beauty queen of India, Ms. Reita Faria. More recently Prathamesh Maulingkar was crowned Mister Supranational 2018. .

Bastora is a village in North Goa, India. It is located on the outskirts of Mapusa town. Green and still scenic, this is one of the many communities and villages that makes up mainly-rural, but fast-urbanising Goa.
