The Konkan (Konkani: कोंकण), also Concan or Kokan, is a stretch of land by the western coast of India, running from Damaon in the north to Anjediva in the south; with the Arabian Sea to the west and the Deccan plateau in the east. The hinterland east of the coast has numerous river valleys and riverine islands among the hilly slopes leading up into the tablelands of the Deccan. The region has been recognised by name, since at least the time of Strabo in the third century C.E., and was a thriving mercantile port with Arab tradesmen from the 10th century. The best-known islands of Konkan are Ilhas de Goa, the site of the Goa state's capital at Panjim, and the seven islands of Bombay, on which lies the capital of the state of Maharashtra.main kokan starts from Alibag and ends with goa. Agnel Institute of Technology and Design, Assagao is an Engineering College located in the village of Assagao in Bardez, India. It was established in the year 2012 and approved by AICTE and is affiliated with Goa University. The college is named after Fr. Agnelo. The college campus was designed by civil engineer Olavo Carvalho.The second campus of the Centre for Incubation and Business Acceleration (CIBA) was opened at AITD in 2015.

Saraswat Vidyalaya is an educational institution located in Mapusa, Goa. It was founded in March 1911 by the Saraswat Education Society that looks after the high school with the feeder units of pre-primary and primary, also has Purushottam Walawalkar Higher Secondary School of Arts, Science, Commerce and College of Commerce. In June 1984, the society has established Swar-Shrungar, a music school where tabla, harmonium, flute and vocal music are taught. Besides the general streams, the higher secondary manages vocational courses in Auto Engineering Technology, Office Secretaryship/Stenography and Accountancy and Auditing, Floriculture and Landscaping. From June 1990, the management has established an Institute of Management and Human Resources Development that conducts short term job oriented courses. A new study center of Yeshwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University has also been added with the four year degree course in Horticulture. From June 2000 B.B.A degree course has been started that caters to the needs of youth from North Goa.

St. Xavier's College is a private Catholic university college located in the town of Mapusa (also spelt as Mapuca, Mapusa or Mapsa) in the district of North Goa, India. It is the largest and oldest college north of the Mandovi River in Goa, a state along the west coast of India. The college is accredited by the NAAC with a Grade "A", or CGPA 3.12 out of 4.

Mapusa Assembly constituency is one of the 40 assembly constituencies of Goa, a southern state of India. Mapusa is also one of the 20 constituencies that comes under North Goa (Lok Sabha constituency).It is part of North Goa district.

St. Britto High School, Mapusa. commonly known as St. Britto or St. Britto's, is a private Catholic primary and secondary school for boys located in Mapusa, Goa, on the west coast of India. It was founded in 1946 and is run by the Society of Jesus (Jesuits). It is all-boys and includes grades one through ten. In 2017 all 142 graduates passed the secondary exam.

Mapusa Municipal Market (also known as Mapusa Market and Mapusa Friday Market) is a traditional market in Mapusa, North Goa and a major tourist attraction. It was built in 1960, the first planned market in Goa. The market has three blocks with 164 shops, some of which have been sub-divided, so bringing the total to 173. It is open every day, except Sunday; and is particularly popular on Friday mornings.
