Greyfield Wood

Highbury Hill in Clutton, Somerset, England is the site of the earthwork remains of an Iron Age univallate hillfort. It occupies an area of woodland at the end of a narrow ridge. It is a Scheduled Ancient Monument, meaning that it is a nationally important archaeological site or historic building, given protection against unauthorised change.The 3 hectares (7.4 acres) site lies in an area of woodland at the south eastern end of a narrow ridge with steep slopes around it. There is a 0.5 metres (1.6 ft) outer bank which is 8 metres (26 ft) long with a shallow 8 metres (26 ft) wide ditch. Some Roman silver coins were found at the site in the late 18th century.

Stephen's Vale Nature Reserve is located in a small wooded valley south of Greyfield Wood and west of High Littleton in Somerset, England. It is known for its two-stage, 15 foot high waterfall, which is on a tributary of Cam Brook.

Cloud Quarry (grid reference ST630577) was a quarry near Temple Cloud, in the limestone of the Mendip Hills, in Somerset, England. During World War II a factory was built in the disused quarry to make wings and tail planes for Lancaster bombers. Parnell was the company who moved here after their Yate factory was bombed. The roof was painted blue in an attempt to fool German bombers into thinking it was water in a quarry. The factory is now used for light industry and workshops including a trapeze school.

High Littleton is a village and civil parish in Somerset, England, about 1.2 miles (1.9 km) north of Paulton and 7.5 miles (12 km) south-west of Bath. The parish includes the small village of Hallatrow and the hamlets of White Cross, Greyfield and Mearns; the northeastern part of High Littleton village is known as Rotcombe. High Littleton and Hallatrow are on the A39 Wells-Bath road, which is crossed by the A37 Shepton Mallet to Bristol road at White Cross. There is a Church of England Voluntary Controlled primary school (4–11 years) in the village, together with several pubs and shops.

Clutton was a rural district in Somerset, England, from 1894 to 1974. It was created in 1894 under the Local Government Act 1894 as a successor to the rural sanitary district. In 1974 it was abolished under the Local Government Act 1972. The parishes in the district became part of the Non-metropolitan district of Wansdyke in the newly formed County of Avon. Avon was itself abolished in 1996 and the administration of Clutton became the responsibility of the new unitary authority of Bath and North East Somerset (BANES). BANES took over the parishes of Cameley, Chelwood, Chew Magna, Chew Stoke, Clutton, Compton Martin, East Harptree, Farmborough, Farrington Gurney, High Littleton, Hinton Blewett, Nempnett Thrubwell, Norton Malreward, Paulton, Publow, Stanton Drew, Stowey-Sutton, Timsbury, Ubley and West Harptree. The parishes of Chilcompton, Litton and Ston Easton became the responsibility of the Mendip Council (within Somerset County Council).

Clutton is a village and civil parish on the eastern edge of the affluent Chew Valley, close to the Cam Brook river, in the Bath and North East Somerset Council area, within the ceremonial county of Somerset, England. The village lies east of the A37 road between Bath and Shepton Mallet, and is 9 miles (14 km) from Bristol and Bath, and 11 miles (18 km) from Wells. Close by are the villages of Temple Cloud and High Littleton. The town of Midsomer Norton is 5 miles (8 km) away. The parish, which includes the hamlets of Clutton Hill and Northend, had a population of 1,602 in 2011.

The Church of St Augustine is an Anglican parish church in Clutton Somerset, England. It was originally built around 1290, but much of it has been rebuilt since, and has been designated as a Grade II* listed building. The church is dedicated to St Augustine of Hippo. The tower is made of red sandstone with diagonal buttresses ending in pinnacles and probably dates from 1726. The tower contains two bells dating from 1734, made by Thomas Bilbie of the Bilbie family.Two railed tomb enclosures within the Broadribb family plot are also listed as Grade II, as are a group of three Broadribb and Purnell monuments.In 1780 John Wesley came to the church but was denied use of the pulpit, so he had to preach from a stone in the churchyard.The parish is part of the benefice of Clutton with Cameley, Bishop Sutton and Stowey within the archdeaconry of Bath.

Temple Cloud (grid reference ST621580) is a village in the Chew Valley in Somerset on the A37 road. It is in the civil parish of Temple Cloud with Cameley and in the council area of Bath and North East Somerset. It is 10 miles (16 km) from Bristol and 5 miles (8 km) from the town of Midsomer Norton. The villages of Cameley and Clutton are nearby. The Temple in the place name possibly relates to the Knights Templar who held the manors of Cameley and Cloud around 1200. Cloud is thought to come from the personal name Cloda. It has been suggested that Cloud derives from the Old English ‘clud’ meaning rocky outcrop (the neighbouring village Clutton has the same derivation). There were several coal mines in and around the village as a part of the Somerset coalfield, but these have all since closed.

Wansdyke was a county constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It elected one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election. The constituency was created for the 1983 general election, and abolished at the 2010 general election.
