Chiselville Covered Bridge

The East Arlington Village Historic District encompasses the historic core of a 19th-century village in Arlington and Sunderland, Vermont, United States. It is centered on Old Mill Road, and developed as a mill village beginning in the 18th century. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.

Arlington is a census-designated place (CDP) in the towns of Arlington and Sunderland, Bennington County, Vermont, United States. The population was 1,213 at the 2010 census.In 1989, the Arlington Village Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The district covers an area of 180 acres (73 ha) and includes 190 contributing buildings and sites in the village center. In addition to historical and architectural significance, the district is also noted for being the place where composer Carl Ruggles spent the later years of his life. The buildings in the district provide examples of Colonial Revival, Greek Revival, and Federal styles. The St. James Episcopal Church (1829–30), the second oldest Gothic Revival church in Vermont, is located in Arlington village. In the early 20th century, the village was an important industrial center with several mills and factories, many of which were washed away by flooding in 1927. The village also has unusual sections of marble sidewalks, laid using stone from nearby quarries.

As of the 2010 census, the state as a whole had a population of 625,741. As there are a total of 30 Senators, there were 20,858 residents per senator. As of the 2000 census, the state as a whole had a population of 608,827. As there are a total of 30 Senators, there were 20,294 residents per senator. The Bennington District had a population of 39,219 in that same census. The district is apportioned two senators. This equals 19,610 residents per senator, 3.37% below the state average.

The Bennington-5 Representative District is a one-member state Representative district in the U.S. state of Vermont. It is one of the 108 one or two member districts into which the state was divided by the redistricting and reapportionment plan developed by the Vermont General Assembly following the 2000 U.S. Census. The plan applies to legislatures elected in 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, and 2010. A new plan will be developed in 2012 following the 2010 U.S. Census. The Bennington-5 District includes all of the Bennington County towns of Arlington, Sandgate, and Sunderland, as well as: ...that part of Rupert encompassed within a boundary beginning at the intersection of the New York state line with VT 153; then northeasterly along the centerline of VT 153 to the intersection with East Street; then easterly along the centerline of East Street to the intersection with Kent Hollow Road; then southerly along the centerline of Kent Hollow Road to the Sandgate town line. As there are a total of 150 representatives, there were 4,059 residents per representative (or 8,118 residents per two representatives). The one member Bennington-5 District had a population of 3,718 in that same census, 8.4% below the state average.

Lake Shaftsbury State Park is an 84-acre state park around Lake Shaftsbury in Shaftsbury, Vermont.Activities includes swimming, non-motorized boating, fishing, picnicking, hiking, wildlife watching, camping and winter sports.Facilities include non-motorized boat rentals, a snack bar, beach, restroom, play area and picnic area. There is a large open pavilion with electricity, grills, tables and chairs. Camping facilities include a fully furnished waterfront cottage that sleeps six, with deck and grill, and a group camping area with clusters of lean-tos. Port-a-let facilities are available. The park is located in Arlington State Forest.

The Hard Farm Homestead, also known as the Zera Hard House, is a historic farm complex on River Road in Manchester, Vermont. Consisting of an early 19th-century Cape, an 1840s Greek Revival house, and a number of 19th-century outbuildings, it represents a rare surviving assemblage of farm buildings in the town. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Arlington State Forest covers 225 acres (0.91 km2) in Arlington, Vermont in Bennington County. The forest is managed by the Vermont Department of Forests, Parks, and Recreation for timber resources and wildlife habitat.

Hildene, the Lincoln Family Home is the former summer home of Robert Todd Lincoln and his wife Mary Harlan Lincoln, located at 1005 Hildene Road in Manchester Center, Vermont.

Manchester is a town in, and one of two shire towns (county seats) of, Bennington County, Vermont. The population was 4,484 at the 2020 census.Manchester Village, an incorporated village, and Manchester Center, are settlement centers within the town. Manchester has become a tourist destination, especially for those from New York and Connecticut, offering visitors factory outlet stores of national chain retailers as well as many locally owned businesses and retaurants.
