Coddle Creek is a stream/river that rises near Mooresville in Iredell County, North Carolina. It flows through most of northwestern Cabarrus County, North Carolina, where it empties into Rocky River near Harrisburg, North Carolina.

Rocky River Presbyterian Church is a historic Presbyterian church located near Rocky River, Cabarrus County, North Carolina. The property includes the Greco-Italianate style brick church (1860-1861); a frame Session House (1839); a small cemetery dating to 1814; and the two-story, brick Greek Revival and Italianate style Manse (1873).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

Hickory Ridge High School is a comprehensive public high school in Harrisburg, North Carolina. It became the sixth high school in the Cabarrus County Schools system when it opened on August 27, 2007. It has been designated by the North Carolina Board of Education an Honor School of Excellence, North Carolina's highest distinction, for 2008–2009, 2009–2010, and 2010–2011. When it is completed, Amtrak's Carolinian and Piedmont will serve the station. The station building will also have office space for the Cabarrus County Sheriff's Department. The Stonewall Jackson Youth Development Center is a juvenile correctional facility of the North Carolina Department of Public Safety located in unincorporated Cabarrus County, North Carolina, near Concord.The Stonewall Jackson Manual Training and Industrial School was established by an act of the state legislature in 1907 and opened in 1909 as the first juvenile detention facility in North Carolina. The school was named for Confederate General Stonewall Jackson. The institution is located three miles (5 km) from Concord. Walter Thompson was the first principal. Originally encompassing 290 acres (1.2 km2), the campus is 800 acres (3,200,000 m2), 58 acres (230,000 m2) of which are still used, with 5 buildings on the property. As of 2018–19, the Youth Development Center had 107 residents and the Juvenile Detention Center had 26, with full-time equivalent staff of 257.Due to the school's pioneering status and the quality of several of its early buildings, the Stonewall Jackson Training School Historic District has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This designation includes 71 acres and 50 buildings.It was previously operated by the North Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention.

Robert Harvey Morrison Farm and Pioneer Mills Gold Mine, also known as Cedarvale, is a historic home and farm and national historic district located near Midland, Cabarrus County, North Carolina. The district encompasses five contributing buildings and three contributing sites. The house was built about 1846, and is a two-story, three bay Greek Revival style frame dwelling. It features a full width one-story, hip roof porch. Also on the property are the contributing smokehouse (c. 1846), log barn (c. 1846), shed (c. 1900), shop (c. 1900), and the remains of the Pioneer Mills Gold Mine including the mine shaft site (c. 1832), ore mill site (c. 1832), and miner's cabin site (c. 1855).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.
