Mioglia (Ligurian: Mieuja; Piedmontese: Mioja) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Savona in the Italian region Liguria, located about 40 kilometres (25 mi) west of Genoa and about 20 kilometres (12 mi) north of Savona. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 536 and an area of 20.0 square kilometres (7.7 sq mi).Mioglia borders the following municipalities: Giusvalla, Pareto, Pontinvrea, and Sassello.

Pontinvrea (Ligurian: O Ponte) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Savona in the Italian region Liguria, located about 40 kilometres (25 mi) west of Genoa and about 15 kilometres (9 mi) northwest of Savona. The municipality of Pontinvrea contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Giovo Ligure and Ferriera. Pontinvrea borders the following municipalities: Albisola Superiore, Cairo Montenotte, Giusvalla, Mioglia, Sassello, and Stella.

The Battle of Dego took place on September 21, 1794, in present-day Italy, during the War of the First Coalition. The battle was fought between French and Austrian armies resulting in a French victory. The battle is notable for being described in Napoleon's correspondence, as he was present at the battle. The Austrian army attempted to seize Savona, but were checked by the French at Dego. The French plan of battle was drawn up by General of Artillery Napoleon Bonaparte. The commander-in-chief of the French forces, Pierre Jadart Dumerbion, reported the victory to the French government, writing of Bonaparte's involvement, "It is to the ability of the General of Artillery that I owe the clever combinations which have secured our success." The French did not follow up on this success, due to the grand strategy of the French government for a defensive war.

Piana Crixia (Italian: [ˈpjaːna ˈkriːzja]; Ligurian: A Ciana; Piedmontese: Pion) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Savona in the Italian region Liguria, located about 50 kilometres (31 mi) west of Genoa and about 25 kilometres (16 mi) northwest of Savona. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 826 and an area of 29.6 square kilometres (11.4 sq mi). Piana Crixia borders the following municipalities: Castelletto Uzzone, Dego, Merana, Pezzolo Valle Uzzone, Serole, and Spigno Monferrato.

Sassello (Ligurian: Sascello; locally Sascê) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Savona in the Italian region Liguria, located about 58 kilometres (36 mi) west of Genoa and about 26 kilometres (16 mi) north of Savona in the northern side of the Ligurian Apennines. It is the birthplace of Blessed Chiara Badano. Part of Sassello's territory lies within the boundaries of the Parco naturale regionale del Beigua.

The Sanctuary of Nostra Signora della Misericordia is a church and surrounding buildings located some six kilometers from the center of Savona, Liguria, northern Italy. It is built on the site commemorating the apparition of the Virgin Mary to the shepherd and officially blessed Antonio Botta (18 March 1536). She appeared to the shepherd during a time of war between Savona and Genoa, and had the message inviting both parties to exercise "Misericordia e non Giustizia" ("Mercy and not Justice"). The church is located about 6 kilometers from the center of the city. The present Renaissance church was designed by Pace Antonio Sormano in 1536–1540. The Baroque facade was designed and built by Taddeo Carlone in 1609–1611. The interior is highly decorated by prominent architects and artists. The buildings surrounding the church became a hospice and orphanage. The main altar is attributed to the studio of Francesco Maria Schiaffino. The cupola frescoes are by Bernardo Castello. The four pinnacles were decorated by the painter Narducci. The vault of the nave was decorated by Narducci, Riva, Giuseppe Ghislandi, and the stuccoist Castori. The left aisle and chapels contain two altarpieces, a Madonna della Neve (1st chapel) and a Nativity (3rd chapel) by Bernardo Castello. The second chapel has a marble relief by Gianlorenzo Bernini. The third chapel has a marble relief of the Annunciation by Andrea Semino. The right aisle contains an altarpiece of the Immaculate Conception by Paolo Gerolamo Brusco (1742-1820), a Nativity by Orazio Borgianni (1578-1616), a Presentation of Mary at the Temple by Domenichino. The Crucifix at the end of the aisle is by Giovanni Battista Paggi (1554-1627). The chorus has a magnificently designed intarsio or wood inlay panels by Vincenzo e Giuseppe Garassino, completed in the 18th century. The central panel reproduces a painting by Giuseppe Agostino Ratti. The apse angel frescoes were completed in an antique fashion by Eso Peluzzi in 1928. The crypt statue of the virgin is by Pietro Orsolino.

Stella (Ligurian: A Steja - literally, the star) is a comune of the Province of Savona in the Italian region Liguria. The municipality has a population of 3,006 (as of 1 January 2018) and extends over an area of 43.68 square kilometres (16.86 sq mi). It borders the comuni of Albisola Superiore, Celle Ligure, Pontinvrea, Sassello and Varazze.

Altare (Ligurian: Artâ, Piedmontese: Latè, L’Atæ in local dialect) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Savona in the Italian region Liguria, located about 45 km (28 mi) west of Genoa and about 11 km (6.8 mi) northwest of Savona. As of 1 January 2009, it had a population of 2,160 and an area of 11.7 km2 (4.5 sq mi). Altare borders the following municipalities: Cairo Montenotte, Carcare, Mallare, Quiliano, and Savona.

Colle di Cadibona - 436 m (1,430 ft) - is a mountain pass between Savona and Altare in the Ligurian Alps, delineating the boundary with the Apennine Mountains. It is also known as Bocchetta di Altare. On the south-eastern side of the Alps Godovič Pass (Slovenia) conventionally represents the opposite end of the Alpine range.

The Beigua Natural Regional Park (in Italian Parco naturale regionale del Beigua) is a natural park located in province of Savona and the Metropolitan City of Genoa, both in Liguria (Italy). It's the largest protected area of the region. It gets the name from the highest mountain of the area, Monte Beigua.

Cartosio is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Alessandria in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 80 kilometres (50 mi) southeast of Turin and about 40 kilometres (25 mi) southwest of Alessandria. Cartosio borders the following municipalities: Castelletto d'Erro, Cavatore, Malvicino, Melazzo, Montechiaro d'Acqui, Pareto, and Ponzone.

Quiliano (Ligurian: Cuggen) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Savona in the Italian region Liguria, located about 45 kilometres (28 mi) southwest of Genoa and about 5 kilometres (3 mi) west of Savona. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 7,225 and an area of 49.5 square kilometres (19.1 sq mi). The municipality of Quiliano contains these frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) : Cadibona, astride the watershed between the Alps and Apennines, Valleggia, Montagna, Roviasca, Faia and Tiassano. In the environs of Quiliano remain several Roman archaeological sites: a Roman bridge still functions in the valley of Quazzola and remains of a Roman villa may be seen at San Pietro in Carpignano. Quiliano borders the following municipalities: Altare, Mallare, Orco Feglino, Savona, Vado Ligure, and Vezzi Portio.
