Douglastown is a hamlet in Kinnettles in Angus, Scotland, three miles south-west of Forfar. It takes its name from the landowner who in about 1789 provided land for James Ivory & Co. (in which Mr Douglas was a partner) to build a flax mill to spin yarn for heavy linen cloth called osnabruks (named from the German town of Osnabruk, where it was originally made. The hamlet of Douglastown was built to house the workers. The mill closed in 1834. It used flax-spinning technology invented by John Kendrew and Thomas Porthouse of Darlington, patented in 1787.

Kinnettles is a civil parish in Angus, a council area in the northeast of Scotland. The Parish is bounded on the north and east by Forfar, on the southeast and south by Inverarity and the southwest and northwest by Glamis. The centre of the Parish is dominated by the oblong Brigton Hill (164m) whose steepest slopes descend to the Kerbet Water. The Kerbet valley is well wooded and contains two small hamlets, Kirkton and Douglastown. The only other sizeable group of dwellings is at Ingliston on the flatter area to the northwest of the A94 Forfar to Glamis road. The northern boundary is the "Great Drain", now known as the Dean Water. Strathmore Estates constructed this, from Forfar Loch to the Kerbet, in the 18th century and thus helped to drain this previously boggy area. In addition it provided a transportation route for marl from the Loch to the Estate. The parish church dates from 1811 and was by Dundee architect Samuel Bell.There are three local estates: Brigton, Invereighty, and Kinnettles House. The latest iteration of the mansion at Kinnettles House, built in 1864 by merchant James Paterson, has served as home for such people as Member of Parliament (MP) Sir Harry Hope and Wing Commander Dudley Lloyd-Evans.

Kinnettles Castle is a mid-19th century period castle located in Forfar, Angus, Scotland. Set on 44 acres, the Scottish Baronial castle is now a hotel.

Loch of Forfar is a freshwater loch lying on the western side of the town of Forfar, Scotland. The loch trends in an east to west direction and is approximately 1 mi (1.6 km) in length. The loch and area around it form Forfar Loch Country Park. On the northern side of the loch there is a natural gravel projection which is named Queen Margaret's Inch or Saint Margaret's Inch. The projection was named after Queen Margaret, the 11th century Queen of Scots. Several historical structures have been located on the Inch including a crannog and a chapel.

Angus (Scots: Angus; Scottish Gaelic: Aonghas) is one of the 32 local government council areas of Scotland, a registration county and a lieutenancy area. The council area borders Aberdeenshire, Dundee City and Perth and Kinross. Main industries include agriculture and fishing. Angus was historically a province, and later a sheriffdom and county (known officially as Forfarshire from the 18th century until 1928), bordering Kincardineshire to the north-east, Aberdeenshire to the north and Perthshire to the west; southwards it faced Fife across the Firth of Tay; these remain the borders of Angus, minus Dundee which now forms its own small separate council area. Angus remains a registration county and a lieutenancy area. In 1975 some of its administrative functions were transferred to the council district of the Tayside Region, and in 1995 further reform resulted in the establishment of the unitary Angus Council.

The Hunter's Hill Stone, otherwise known as the Glamis 1 Stone, is a Class II Pictish standing stone at Hunter's Hill to the south east of Glamis village, Angus, Scotland.

Scotland's Countryside Festival is an annual two-day event which takes place at Glamis Castle, by Forfar.The festival originally came about in the wake of the 2007 outbreak of foot and mouth disease. The organisers hoped to try to develop something that would be good for the rural economy after the devastation that disease brought. During the outbreak, businesses closed and events were cancelled because people were asked not to move about the countryside. The Festival was intended as a sign of confidence in the future of rural activities. Scotland's Countryside Festival takes place in the parklands of Glamis Castle, the childhood home of Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. The festival is the largest event of its kind in the east of Scotland. Events hosted at Scotland's Countryside Festival include: Scottish Food Fortnight; The Fife and Kinross Working Terrier Association Terrier and Lurcher Show; and Scottish Countryside Alliance Educational Trust Countryside Day.

Kirriemuir Town Hall is a municipal structure in Reform Street in Kirriemuir, Angus, Scotland. The structure, which is used as a community events venue, is a Category C listed building.

Kirriemuir Town House is a municipal structure in the High Street in Kirriemuir, Angus, Scotland. The structure, which is used as a museum, is a Category B listed building.

The Glamis Manse Stone, also known as Glamis 2, is a Class II Pictish stone at the village of Glamis, Angus, Scotland. Dating from the 9th century, it is located outside the Manse, close to the parish church. It is inscribed on one side with a Celtic cross and on the other with a variety of Pictish symbols. It is a scheduled monument.
