Scotland's Countryside Festival is an annual two-day event which takes place at Glamis Castle, by Forfar.The festival originally came about in the wake of the 2007 outbreak of foot and mouth disease. The organisers hoped to try to develop something that would be good for the rural economy after the devastation that disease brought. During the outbreak, businesses closed and events were cancelled because people were asked not to move about the countryside. The Festival was intended as a sign of confidence in the future of rural activities. Scotland's Countryside Festival takes place in the parklands of Glamis Castle, the childhood home of Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. The festival is the largest event of its kind in the east of Scotland. Events hosted at Scotland's Countryside Festival include: Scottish Food Fortnight; The Fife and Kinross Working Terrier Association Terrier and Lurcher Show; and Scottish Countryside Alliance Educational Trust Countryside Day.

The Hunter's Hill Stone, otherwise known as the Glamis 1 Stone, is a Class II Pictish standing stone at Hunter's Hill to the south east of Glamis village, Angus, Scotland.

Douglastown is a hamlet in Kinnettles in Angus, Scotland, three miles south-west of Forfar. It takes its name from the landowner who in about 1789 provided land for James Ivory & Co. (in which Mr Douglas was a partner) to build a flax mill to spin yarn for heavy linen cloth called osnabruks (named from the German town of Osnabruk, where it was originally made. The hamlet of Douglastown was built to house the workers. The mill closed in 1834. It used flax-spinning technology invented by John Kendrew and Thomas Porthouse of Darlington, patented in 1787.

The Glamis Manse Stone, also known as Glamis 2, is a Class II Pictish stone at the village of Glamis, Angus, Scotland. Dating from the 9th century, it is located outside the Manse, close to the parish church. It is inscribed on one side with a Celtic cross and on the other with a variety of Pictish symbols. It is a scheduled monument.

Angus Folk Museum was a centre for agricultural history and rural life located near Forfar, Angus. It was located in the village of Glamis off the A94. The museum was founded by Jean, Lady Maitland who gave her collections to the nation in the 1950s. Since 1976 it has been administered by the National Trust for Scotland. The museum has been described as containing "one of Scotland's finest folk collections".The museum was housed in a terraced row of six cottages built in 1793 and one farm steading. The buildings were given by Timothy Bowes-Lyon, 16th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne to house the museum collections.It was given a 3 star rating by the Scottish Tourist Board. The museum closed permanently in 2017 due to structural problems discovered in its buildings, and National Trust Scotland are considering alternative homes for the collections.

Kirriemuir (; Scots pronunciation: [ˌkɪreˈmeːr]; Scottish Gaelic: Ceathramh Mhoire [ˌkʲʰɛɾə ˈvɔɾʲə]), sometimes called Kirrie or the Wee Red Toon, is a burgh in Angus, Scotland. It reaches back to earliest recorded times, when it is thought to have been a major ecclesiastical centre. Later it was identified with witchcraft; some older houses still feature a "witches stane" to ward off evil. In the 19th century, it was a major centre of the jute trade. The playwright J. M. Barrie was born and buried here – a statue of Peter Pan stands in the town square. In 2016, a statue of Bon Scott, lead singer of AC/DC from 1974 until his death in 1980, was erected in Bellies Brae Car Park. While born in Forfar, Scott had lived in Kirriemuir as a child before his family moved to Australia.

Webster's High School is a secondary school in Kirriemuir, Angus, Scotland. The school has run for over 150 years, and there are over 650 pupils in the school. The school has 4 houses; Isla, Moy, Prosen and Clova, The houses are named after Angus Glens. As well as the town of Kirriemuir, the school serves an extensive rural area which extends from Glen Isla, Glen Prosen and Glen Clova in the north, to the villages of Glamis and Glen Ogilvy in the south.
