The temple of Minerva is an archaeological area located on Mount Castelon, in the municipality of Marano di Valpolicella, in the province of Verona. The site, popular as a sanctuary at least since the 6th century BC, became a place of worship dedicated to Minerva in the 2nd century BC.

Valpolicella (UK: , US: , Italian: [ˌvalpoliˈtʃɛlla]) is a viticultural zone of the province of Verona, Italy, east of Lake Garda. The hilly agricultural and marble-quarrying region of small holdings north of the Adige is famous for wine production. Valpolicella ranks just after Chianti in total Italian denominazione di origine controllata (DOC) wine production.The red wine known as Valpolicella is typically made from three grape varieties: Corvina Veronese, Rondinella, and Molinara. A variety of wine styles are produced in the area, including a recioto dessert wine and Amarone, a strong wine made from dried grapes. Most basic Valpolicellas are light, fragrant table wines produced in a novello style, similar to Beaujolais nouveau and released only a few weeks after harvest. Valpolicella Classico is made from grapes grown in the original Valpolicella production zone. Valpolicella Superiore is aged at least one year and has an alcohol content of at least 12 percent. Valpolicella Ripasso is a form of Valpolicella Superiore made with partially dried grape skins that have been left over from fermentation of Amarone or recioto.Winemaking in the region has existed since at least the time of the ancient Greeks. The name "Valpolicella" appeared in charters of the mid-12th century, combining two valleys previously thought of independently. Its etymology is likely from the Latin vallis pulicellae ("valley of river deposits"). Today Valpolicella's economy is heavily based on wine production. The region, colloquially called the "pearl of Verona", has also been a preferred location for rural vacation villas. Seven comuni compose Valpolicella: Pescantina, San Pietro in Cariano, Negrar, Marano di Valpolicella, Fumane, Sant’Ambrogio di Valpolicella and Sant’Anna d’Alfaedo. The Valpolicella production zone was enlarged to include regions of the surrounding plains when Valpolicella achieved DOC status in 1968. In December 2009, the production of Amarone and recioto dessert wines within the Valpolicella DOC received their own separate denominazione di origine controllata e garantita (DOCG) status.

San Pietro in Cariano (Venetian: San Piero in Carian) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Verona in the Italian region Veneto, located about 110 kilometres (68 mi) west of Venice and about 12 kilometres (7 mi) northwest of Verona. It is located in the geographical region of Valpolicella. The main attraction is the Romanesque pieve of San Floriano (10th century) and Villa Serego, a Palladian villa designed by Andrea Palladio.

Marano di Valpolicella is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Verona in the Italian region Veneto, located about 110 kilometres (68 mi) west of Venice and about 14 kilometres (9 mi) northwest of Verona. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 2,975 and an area of 18.6 square kilometres (7.2 sq mi). The municipality of Marano di Valpolicella contains the frazione (subdivision) Valgatara e San Rocco. Marano di Valpolicella borders the following municipalities: Fumane, Negrar, San Pietro in Cariano, and Sant'Anna d'Alfaedo.

The parish church of San Giorgio di Valpolicella, also known as the parish church of San Giorgio Ingannapoltron, is an ancient Catholic place of worship located in San Giorgio di Valpolicella, a hamlet of Sant'Ambrogio di Valpolicella, in the province and diocese of Verona; it is also the seat of the parish of the same name included in the vicariate of Valpolicella. Probably built on a site previously used for pagan worship dating back to the 8th century (according to some historians perhaps as far back as the 7th), the present religious building represents one of the most interesting and ancient examples of Romanesque architecture found in the province of Verona. Largely rebuilt around the 11th century, the parish church of San Giorgio was at the head of one of the three "piovadeghi" into which Valpolicella was administratively divided; along with it, the parish churches of San Floriano and Negrar also held this role. It was also a collegiate church, the seat of a chapter of canons who also ran a schola iuniorum (i.e., a school in which the first notions of Latin grammar were taught to local boys, from among whom new clerics were often chosen). In addition to the interesting architectural structure, the adjacent cloister and the frescoes inside, of great value is an ancient ciborium that has inscriptions placing it in the middle of the Lombard era, specifically in the period of Liutprand's reign.

Villa Costanza, otherwise known as Villa Saibante, Monga, is a Venetian villa dating back to the first half of the seventeenth century. It is located in the municipality of San Pietro in Cariano, in Valpolicella, in the province of Verona. It borders on Pullè villa. The construction of the building can be dated between 1623 and 1629. The shape is of inverted "U" with a central body and two perpendicular wings. The west wing housed the stables and the east wing is decorated with different military-decorations. Inside we can find numerous and valuable frescoes. This brings them closer to their friend George Clooney's Villa L'Oleandra de Laglio on Lake Como.

Monte Pastello is a mountain of the Veneto, Italy. The mountain, which has an elevation of 1,128 metres, is part of the Monti Lessini in the Venetian Prealps. It is located in the Province of Verona.

Negrar di Valpolicella is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Verona in the Italian region Veneto, about 110 kilometres (68 mi) west of Venice and about 12 kilometres (7 mi) northwest of Verona. Since 8 February 2019, the official name has been changed to "Negrar di Valpolicella" (L.R. n. 7, 8 February 2019) after a referendum was held in the town.

Villa Serego or Villa Sarego is a Palladian villa at Santa Sofia di Pedemonte, San Pietro in Cariano in the province of Verona, northern Italy. It was built for the aristocratic Sarego family, and designed by Italian Renaissance architect Andrea Palladio. The villa is distinctive for its use of rusticated columns of the Ionic order.

As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 14,096 and an area of 19.7 square kilometres (7.6 sq mi).The municipality of Pescantina contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Settimo, Balconi, Arcè, Ospedaletto, and Santa Lucia. Pescantina borders the following municipalities: Bussolengo, Pastrengo, San Pietro in Cariano, Sant'Ambrogio di Valpolicella, and Verona.

The Villa Mosconi Bertani (also known as Villa Novare) is a Neoclassical winery and manor in the Veneto region of Italy famous for its heritage in the production of Amarone della Valpolicella wine. It is located in the municipality of Negrar di Valpolicella, Località Novare, in the province of Verona. It is the only Veronese estate since the beginning of the 18th century specifically constructed for the purpose of wine production. It consists of a residence, large cellar and orchard (22 hectares (54 acres)). Villa Mosconi Bertani is also known to have been an important centre of Romanticism, through Italian poet and writer Ippolito Pindemonte, and also the cradle of Amarone wine. The complex is listed and protected as a historical landmark by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities. The villa, park and winery are open to the public for guided tours, cultural events and private parties. The villa now is the main winery for Tenuta Santa Maria, owned by the Bertani family.
