As of 1 September 2011, it had a population of 11.865 and an area of 10.0 square kilometres (3.9 sq mi).The municipality of Castel d'Azzano contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) La Rizza, San Martino, and Forette. Castel d'Azzano borders the following municipalities: Buttapietra, Verona, Vigasio, and Villafranca di Verona.

As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 7,393 and an area of 30.8 square kilometres (11.9 sq mi).The municipality of Vigasio contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Isolalta and Forette. Vigasio borders the following municipalities: Buttapietra, Castel d'Azzano, Isola della Scala, Nogarole Rocca, Povegliano Veronese, Trevenzuolo, and Villafranca di Verona. Composer Italo Montemezzi was a native of Vigasio.

At one time the airline's registered office was in Dossobuono, while the airline's executive headquarters were in Ronchi dei Legionari.

On August 2, 1919, a Caproni Ca.48 airliner crashed at Verona, Italy. All aboard died, with various sources placing the death toll at 14, 15, and 17. It was Italy‘s first commercial aviation disaster and the earliest heavier-than-air airliner disaster in history.

Verona Villafranca Airport (IATA: VRN, ICAO: LIPX), also known as Valerio Catullo Airport or Villafranca Airport, is located 10 km (6.2 mi) southwest of Verona, Italy. The airport is situated next to the junction of A4 Milan-Venice and A22 Modena-Brenner motorways. It serves a population of more than 4 million inhabitants in the provinces of Verona, Brescia, Mantua (Mantova) and Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol.

The Quadrilatero (English: Quadrilateral, for greater specificity often called the "Quadrilateral fortresses") is the traditional name of a defensive system of the Austrian Empire in the Lombardy-Venetia region of Italy, which connected the fortresses of Peschiera, Mantua, Legnago and Verona between the Mincio, the Po, and the Adige Rivers. The name refers to the fact that on a map the fortresses appear to form the vertices of a quadrilateral. In the period between the end of the Napoleonic Wars and the Revolutions of 1848, they were the only fully modernized and armed fortresses within the Empire.Starting from c. 1850, supplies and reinforcements were shipped to the positions through the new Venice-Milan railroad. The experience of the Second Italian Independence War of 1859, in which rifled guns had been used for the first time by the Italian Army, pushed the Austrians to build a second line of eight forts, about 4 kilometers from the main line (completed in the spring of 1866), pivoting around Verona.

Santa Lucia was an ancient paesino next to Verona (its parish is still called Santa Lucia extra, since it is positioned outside the ancient town wall). Today it has been absorbed into Verona, located to the south-west of the city centre, forming part of the Circoscrizione 4 of the Commune of Verona.

The battle of Santa Lucia was an episode in the First Italian War of Independence. On 6 May 1848, when the king of Sardinia, Carlo Alberto, sent I Corps of the Sardinian army to assault the fortified positions held before the walls of Verona by the Austrian army under field marshal Josef Radetzky. The Austrian army, though outnumbered, managed to withstand the attack and hold their positions. The battle is named after the Santa Lucia district of Verona. Franz Joseph (then only 17 years old) assisted at the battle.

Banat Air Flight 166 was an Antonov Antonov An-24 (registration YR-AMR) chartered on 13 December 1995 from Romavia by Banat Air. It was due to fly from Verona, Italy, to Timișoara, Romania, when it crashed shortly after take-off, killing all eight crewmembers and 41 passengers. It later emerged that the aircraft was severely overloaded and its wings were contaminated with ice and snow. The accident was the 116th loss of an Antonov 24.

As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 3,088 and an area of 29.2 square kilometres (11.3 sq mi).The municipality of Nogarole Rocca contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Pradelle and Bagnolo. Nogarole Rocca borders the following municipalities: Mozzecane, Povegliano Veronese, Roverbella, Trevenzuolo, and Vigasio.

Trevenzuolo is a comune with 2,431 inhabitants in the province of Verona. A Roman bronze figure of a lady was found in the village in the nineteenth century and is now in the British Museum.
