Slades Farm

Talbot Village is located on the boundary of Bournemouth and Poole in Dorset, England. The old Talbot Village was built between 1850 and 1862 because of the generosity of two sisters, Georgina and Mary Talbot. Georgina and Mary divided their year between Surrey and Hinton Wood House on the East Cliff of Bournemouth with their family and it was while living in Bournemouth that the sisters discovered the many poor who were suffering in the region. Between them, they sought to employ the poor to clear the land to build cottages — these were completed between 1850 and 1862. The workers were allowed to stay in the cottages and slowly, Talbot Village began to develop. The original cottages were built on an acre plot and each had a well, animal pens and fruit trees. The residents were charged a rent of between 4 and 5 shillings per week. Georgina Talbot then had 7 almshouses built for the elderly and widowed. The school was built for the village in 1862 and held 68 children. It has since been extended over the years and in 1992 an extension increased the school's capacity to 420 children.

The university currently has over 16,000 students, including over 3,000 international students. The university is recognised for its work in the media industries. Graduates from the university have worked on a number of Hollywood films, including Gravity, which was awarded the Achievement in Visual Effects Oscar at the 86th Academy Awards in 2015.In 2023, Bournemouth University received a silver rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework, a government assessment of the quality of undergraduate teaching in universities and other higher education providers in England.

Nerve Radio is the Student Union run radio station for Bournemouth University. It was started in 1995 by two Bournemouth University students David Harber and James Bromley in a portacabin on the University's Talbot Campus, and now operates online through its website. During each academic year, Nerve Radio broadcasts on a temporary FM licence around the Bournemouth area, usually at the end of the Spring term in March.Nerve Radio broadcasts every day during term time. Live programming runs from 9 am until 10 pm, with general shows during the day and specialist programming in the evening. During FM broadcasts, live programming usually starts earlier. Nerve Radio is part of Nerve Media, which regularly posts news articles and online features on their website, alongside publishing the award winning Nerve Magazine.In 2015, Nerve Radio moved into the new Student Union building on campus. Nerve now operates with two fully equipped studios, and broadcasts to the hundreds of students inside the Student Union building. Many alumni of the station have gone on to work in the industry professionally including Rachel Jones, Drew Miller Hyndman, and Fleur Ostojak. A number have joined BFBS including Alex Gill, Elliot Darby, and Jess Bracey.

Winton Academy is an 11-16 boys secondary school located in Bournemouth, Dorset, England. By December 2018, a total of 774 boys were enrolled at the school. The current Head Teacher, Leon Lima, is the head of both Winton Academy and the separate girl's school, Glenmoor, both part of the United Learning trust.

Glenmoor Academy is a secondary school for girls located in the Ensbury Park area of Bournemouth in the English county of Dorset.The school was first established in 1877 as Winton British School, educating boys and girls up to age of 13. In 1911 the school relocated to a site on Coronation Avenue which was split into Winton School (boys) and Moordown School (girls). Following a major reorganisation of schools in the area in 1957, The secondary section of Moordown School relocated to the current site on Beswick Avenue and was renamed Glenmoor School. In 1995 Winton School relocated to a site on next door to Glenmoor School on Winton Way. Winton School is now known as Winton Academy. Previously administered by Bournemouth Borough Council, Glenmoor School converted to academy status on 1 September 2013 and was renamed Glenmoor Academy. The school is now part of the United Learning trust which also includes Winton Academy.

Their nickname is "The Poppies", and they are often known as Bournemouth Poppies to avoid confusion with the Premier League club AFC Bournemouth. The club plays at Victoria Park, Namu Road, in Bournemouth and are founding members of the Hampshire FA and Bournemouth FA.

Victoria Park, Bournemouth is a football ground in Victoria Park in Bournemouth and has been the home of Bournemouth F.C. since 1890. It was also a short lived greyhound racing track from 1928 to 1934.
