Linnton is a Portland, Oregon neighborhood located between Forest Park and the Willamette River along U.S. Route 30 (NW St. Helens Rd.), close to the agricultural community of Sauvie Island. It borders the neighborhoods of Northwest Industrial on the south, St. Johns and Cathedral Park via the St. Johns Bridge across the Willamette on the east, and Forest Park (with which it overlaps substantially) on the west. The neighborhood extends north somewhat beyond Portland city limits into unincorporated Multnomah County, ending at the Sauvie Island Bridge.

According to public records, the new owners closed the deal December 18, 2020, and took possession of the castle’s 13,000 square feet of living space on January 9, 2021.

The St. Johns Bridge is a steel suspension bridge that spans the Willamette River in Portland, Oregon, United States, between the Cathedral Park neighborhood in North Portland and the Linnton and Northwest Industrial neighborhoods in Northwest Portland. It carries the U.S. Route 30 Bypass. It is the only suspension bridge in the Willamette Valley and one of three public highway suspension bridges in Oregon.The bridge has a 1,207-foot (368 m) center span and a total length of 2,067 feet (630 m). It is the tallest bridge in Portland, with two 400-foot-tall (120 m) towers and a 205-foot (62 m) navigational clearance. The adjacent park and neighborhood of Cathedral Park are named after the Gothic Cathedral-like design of the bridge towers.

Oregon Shipbuilding Corporation was a World War II emergency shipyard located along the Willamette River in Portland, Oregon, United States. The shipyard built nearly 600 Liberty and Victory ships between 1941 and 1945 under the Emergency Shipbuilding program. It was closed after the war ended. The shipyard, one of three Kaiser Shipyards in the area, was in the St. Johns neighborhood of North Portland. The two others were the Swan Island Shipyard, located several miles upriver on Swan Island; and the Vancouver Shipyard, located across the Columbia River from Portland in Vancouver, Washington.Among the ships built by Oregon Shipbuilding was the Star of Oregon, which was launched on Liberty Fleet Day, September 27, 1941. The rapid expansion of Portland area shipyards during World War II and contraction afterward caused similar expansion and contraction of the population of Vanport City, Oregon, which was also built by Henry J. Kaiser to house the workers of the three area shipyards.The former site of Oregon Shipbuilding in St. Johns is now Schnitzer Steel Industries.

Water, Please is a 1997 aluminum and stainless steel sculpture by Don Merkt, installed outside the Water Pollution Control Laboratory at 6543 North Burlington Avenue, in north Portland, Oregon's Cathedral Park neighborhood, in the United States. Inspired by the relationship between people and water, the work is part of the collection of the City of Portland and Multnomah County Public Art Collection courtesy of the Regional Arts & Culture Council. Bonny Slope is an unincorporated community in Washington County, Oregon, United States. Bonny Slope lies on Thompson Road north of Beaverton and northwest of Portland. One of the first businesses in the area was Potter's Mill, founded circa 1900. It was purchased by E.O. Potter in 1903. Fires, including those in 1940 and 1951, devastated forests around the area. The last lumber mill in Bonny Slope was created following the August 1951 fire, and lasted for about six months.During the Prohibition era, illegal moonshine production was rampant in the area. Violet Frost writes in her book The Bonny Slope Story, "The logs were stacked to give the appearance of solidity but they concealed a small room. To obtain his liquor, a customer needed only to drive on the bridge, walk around to the trap door, and pick up his supply." The production was eventually exposed and operations shut down.Plank roads had long existed in the community, built in the early 1900s using the lumber from local mills, including Potter's Mill. Several contemporary major roads in Bonny Slope were created due to petitions from residents, such as McDaniel Road in 1928, Thompson Road in 1929, and Laidlaw Road in 1932. Minor roads were only paved in the 1990s, and some remain unpaved to this day.

Smith and Bybee Wetlands Natural Area is a public park and nature reserve between the Columbia Slough and the Columbia River in Portland, Oregon. At about 2,000 acres (810 ha), it is one of the largest urban freshwater wetlands in the United States. Metro, the regional government for the Oregon part of the Portland metropolitan area, manages the park. A covered shelter, restrooms, a paved walkway, and a canoe launch lie on the north side of the natural area. Although surrounded by port terminals, warehouses, and commercial areas, Smith and Bybee Wetlands Natural Area provides habitat for a wide variety of wildlife including beaver, bald eagles and western painted turtles. An artificial water-control system helps keep the wetlands wet. Other systems collect methane and prevent leaching from a closed landfill near the south edge of the park.

St. Johns City Hall is a neo-Georgian style municipal building located adjacent to the east end of the St. Johns Bridge in the St. Johns neighborhood of Portland, Oregon. Constructed in 1907 by Youngferdorf & Son the building was the city hall for St. Johns, Oregon. After Portland annexed St. Johns in 1915, the building was turned over to city officials who designated it as the Portland Police Bureau's North Precinct until 2009. It now houses the Police Bureau's Traffic Division.
