O'Fallon is a city in St. Clair County, Illinois, United States. The 2020 census listed the population at 32,289. The city is the second largest city in the Metro East region and Southern Illinois. It sits 5 miles (8.0 km) from Scott Air Force Base and 18 miles (29 km) from Downtown St Louis. Like its namesake in St. Charles County, Missouri, O'Fallon is part of the St. Louis Metropolitan Statistical Area. This makes O'Fallon (along with the two Troys in Illinois and Missouri) one of the few pairs of like-named municipalities to be part of the same MSA.

O'Fallon Township High School is a public secondary school in O'Fallon, Illinois. In 2009, OTHS was ranked 49th out of the top 100 high schools in Illinois by the Chicago Sun Times.As of 2023, it is the second largest public high school in Illinois by enrollment outside of the Chicago area (Belleville High School-East being the largest).

Shiloh–Scott station is a St. Louis MetroLink station in Shiloh, Illinois, adjacent to Scott Air Force Base, after which the station is named. This station is the eastern terminus of the MetroLink system. It opened on June 23, 2003, as part of Phase 2 of the St. Clair County Extension, which extended MetroLink 3.5 miles (5.6 km) from College to Shiloh–Scott.The Shiloh-Scott station is the terminus for the St. Clair County Transit District's 14-mile (23 km) MetroBikeLink shared-use path system. The 2.9-mile (4.7 km) segment connecting the College station to Shiloh-Scott was opened in 2017.

St. Clair Square is a shopping mall in Fairview Heights, Illinois, United States. Opened in 1974, the mall features Macy's, Dillard's, and JCPenney as its anchor stores. It is managed by CBL & Associates Properties. The mall formerly had a Sears, which closed in 2019.

Scott Field Historic District began as a World War I era air base built in 1917 near O'Fallon, Illinois, and was expanded and rebuilt before World War II. The district contains primarily that portion of the base built prior to 1941, and is now contained within the renamed, expanded, and operational Scott Air Force Base. The district boundaries include 107 contributing buildings and structures, and exclude post-1945 buildings built in the areas surrounding the 1917 Main Base area.Scott Field was named after Corporal Frank S. Scott, the first enlisted member of the United States Armed Forces to die in an aircraft accident.The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.

Scott Air Force Base (IATA: BLV, ICAO: KBLV, FAA LID: BLV) is a United States Air Force base in St. Clair County, Illinois, near Belleville and O'Fallon, 17 miles (27 km) east-southeast of downtown St. Louis. Scott Field was one of 32 Air Service training camps established after the United States entered World War I in April 1917. It is headquarters of Air Mobility Command (AMC) and its showcase wing, and it is also the headquarters of the U.S. Transportation Command, a Unified Combatant Command that coordinates transportation across all the services.The base is operated by the 375th Air Mobility Wing (375 AMW) and is also home to the Air Force Reserve Command's 932d Airlift Wing (932 AW) and the Illinois Air National Guard's 126th Air Refueling Wing (126 ARW), the latter two units being operationally gained by AMC. The base currently employs 13,000 people, 5,100 civilians with 5,500 active-duty Air Force, and an additional 2,400 Air National Guard and Reserve personnel. It was announced in June 2014 that two new cybersecurity squadrons will be added to the three currently on base. Its airfield is also used by civilian aircraft, with civilian operations at the base referring to the facility as MidAmerica St. Louis Airport. MidAmerica has operated as a Joint Use Airport since beginning operations in November 1997.

Boasting 6500 square feet, the William and Florence Schmidt Art Center, located on the Belleville campus of Southwestern Illinois College, facilitates visual literacy through exhibitions of art and cultural artifacts while inspiring, informing, and connecting the college and community. With changing exhibits throughout the year, it showcases the art created by professional artists from around the country and local high school and college artists who are just beginning their journey in the art world. In addition, the Schmidt Art Center hosts cultural events in conjunction with professional artists, poets, and musicians. Owning over nine hundred works of art, the Schmidt Art Center boasts the most extensive collection held by any two-year college in Illinois, including paintings, photographs, sculptures, and artifacts. The collection was mostly acquired through private donations and funds from the Illinois Art in Architecture program.Owned by Southwestern Illinois College, The Schmidt operates under its Foundation and may be rented for private events.
