Cats Tor

Jenkin Chapel, stands in an isolated position on the western slopes of the Pennines, 4.3 miles (7 km) northeast of Macclesfield, Cheshire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building. The chapel lies at the junction of three ancient trackways, known as "salters' ways" because they were used by packhorses carrying salt. Later the tracks were used by cattle drovers and sheep dealers. It is an Anglican chapel in the diocese of Chester, the archdeaconry of Macclesfield and the deanery of Macclesfield. Its benefice is combined with those of Holy Trinity, Rainow and Forest Chapel, Macclesfield Forest.

Shining Tor is the highest hill in Cheshire, England. The summit has a maximum elevation of 559 m (1,834 ft) above sea level. It is in the Peak District, between the towns of Macclesfield in Cheshire and Buxton in Derbyshire, and is on the administrative boundary between Derbyshire and Cheshire East. The hill is at the south end of a north-south moorland ridge, which also includes Cats Tor, 519 metres (1,703 ft) high. There is also another hill named Shining Tor, above Dovedale in Derbyshire, at grid reference SK145545.

The Windgather Rocks (416 metres/1,365 ft a.s.l.) is a gritstone crag on the Derbyshire–Cheshire border in England. It is in the Peak District National Park and is a popular site for learning the rudiments of rock climbing. As the name suggests the area is exposed to the prevailing westerly winds. The rocks lie above Taxal Edge and are part of a north–south ridge that starts between Kettleshulme and Whaley Bridge and culminates at Shining Tor. The crag was featured in the first guide to rock climbing in the Peak District, Some Gritstone Climbs, published in 1913 and written by John Laycock.

The ruin of Errwood Hall is a popular tourist destination in the scenic Upper Goyt Valley within the Peak District of England.

Errwood Reservoir is a drinking-water reservoir in the Peak District National Park, within the county of Derbyshire and very close to the boundary with Cheshire. The reservoir was the second of two reservoirs built in the Goyt Valley, the other one being Fernilee Reservoir. It was constructed by the Stockport Water Corporation at a cost of £1.5 million, with work being completed in 1967; it is currently owned and operated by United Utilities. The reservoir provides drinking water for the town of Stockport and its surrounding areas, and it holds 4,215 million litres (1.113×109 US gal) of water. Errwood Sailing Club uses the reservoir for sailing training/racing, and fishing rights are controlled by Errwood Fly Fishing Club.The Peak District Boundary Walk runs across Errwood dam and passes above the eastern side of the reservoir.

Hartington Upper Quarter is a civil parish in the High Peak district of Derbyshire, England. The civil parish was created following the division of the ancient parish of Hartington into four. The parish had a population of 451 according to the 2001 census reducing to 438 at the 2011 Census.The parish is long and thin, extending from north-west of Buxton, taking in the Errwood Reservoir, to the south-east, and Ann Croft. The parish borders parishes in High Peak and Derbyshire Dales districts, and also some parishes in the Staffordshire Moorlands and Cheshire East districts.

The Upper Goyt Valley is the southern section of the valley of the River Goyt in North West England.

Kettleshulme (Old Norse Ketil's island or Ketil's watermeadow) is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Kettleshulme and Lyme Handley, in the Cheshire East district, in the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. The village is close to the border with Derbyshire, on the B5470 road from Whaley Bridge to Macclesfield in the valley of the Todd Brook, a tributary of the River Goyt. In 2001 the parish had a population of 353.

Lamaload Reservoir is a reservoir near Rainow, Cheshire, England (SJ972750). It lies in the South West Peak within the Peak District National Park, to the west of the Goyt Valley, and is fed by the River Dean. The reservoir is 0.93 km × 0.53 km, with a capacity of 1,909,000 m³, impounded by a multiple-arch, round-headed buttress dam in concrete, whose design was innovative at the time. It was built by Richard Costain Ltd in 1959–63 to serve Macclesfield, which lies to its west, and officially opened in 1965. The reservoir and associated water treatment works are owned by United Utilities. The area is a popular tourist spot, forming an access point for walkers to the surrounding moorland.

The Cat and Fiddle is a road in England between Buxton, Derbyshire and Macclesfield, Cheshire, named after the Cat and Fiddle Inn public house at its summit. Formed by parts of the A537, A54 and A53, it is famous for its scenic views across the Greater Manchester conurbation, the Peak District National Park and the Cheshire Plain, and for its many bends. It is extremely popular with motorcyclists, and is often classed as the most dangerous road in the United Kingdom.

The Cat and Fiddle Inn is Britain's highest-altitude whisky distillery. Before closure in 2015, it was the second-highest public house in Britain (after the Tan Hill Inn).It is in the Peak District National Park, on the A537 just west of the Derbyshire/Cheshire county boundary, on the western side of Axe Edge Moor, 1,689 feet (515 m) above sea level.

Its benefice is combined with those of Jenkin Chapel, Saltersford and Holy Trinity, Rainow.
