Hialeah Gardens High School is a public high school in Hialeah Gardens, Florida, United States, which opened its doors in August 2009. It is part of the Miami-Dade County Public Schools system. The school principal is Maritza D. Jimenez. As of the 2014–15 school year, the school had an enrollment of 3,089 students and 115 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student-teacher ratio of 26.9:1. There were 2,208 students (71.5% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 311 (10.1% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

Barbara Goleman Senior High School is a secondary school located at 14100 NW 89th Ave in Miami Lakes, Florida; its principal is Manuel Sanchez. Goleman is part of Miami-Dade County Public Schools Region I, and is school number 7751.The school is named after Barbara Goleman, the 1969 National Teacher of the Year and the only Miami-Dade County Public School teacher to receive this title.Due to the construction of a new senior high school, Hialeah Gardens High School (located in nearby Hialeah Gardens), Barbara Goleman welcomed sophomores-to-be from American Senior High for the 2008-2009 school year, replacing a portion of the class of 2011, which was transferred to the new school.

The Miami Canal, or C-6 Canal, flows from Lake Okeechobee in the U.S. state of Florida to its terminus at the Miami River, which flows through downtown Miami. The canal flows in a south and southeasterly direction for approximately 77 miles, and passes through three counties: Broward, Palm Beach, and Miami-Dade. It was constructed in the early part of the 20th century to drain the Everglades Agricultural Area (EAA). Removing the canal was proposed as part of the Restoration of the Everglades.

Marcus A. Milam K-8 Center, usually referred to as M.A. Milam K-8 Center, or Milam, is an elementary middle school or "K-8 center" in Hialeah, Florida. Established as an elementary school in 1961 to serve the West Hialeah area, the school was expanded to serve as a K-8 school in 1998. It was named after Marcus A. Milam, a dairy pioneer and businessman. The school mascot is the colt. The school colors are white and hunter green, which are incorporated into the mandatory uniform policy. Anna M. Hernandez assumed the position of principal at the beginning of the 2008–2009 school year, succeeding Dr. Robert G. Valenzuela.
