The Battle of Asiago (Battle of the Plateaux) or the Südtirol Offensive (in Italian: Battaglia degli Altipiani), nicknamed Strafexpedition ("Punitive expedition") by the Austro-Hungarian forces, was a major offensive launched by the Austro-Hungarians on the territory of Vicentine Alps in the Italian Front on 15 May 1916, during World War I. It was an "unexpected" attack that took place near Asiago in the province of Vicenza (now in northeast Italy, then on the Italian side of the border between the Kingdom of Italy and Austria-Hungary) after the Fifth Battle of the Isonzo (March 1916). Commemorating this battle and the soldiers killed in World War I is the Asiago War Memorial.

The Asiago War Memorial is a World War I memorial located in the town of Asiago in the Province of Vicenza in the Veneto region of northeast Italy. Surrounded by mountains that were the site of several World War I battles, the monument houses the remains of over 50,000 Italian and Austro-Hungarian soldiers and is a popular destination for travelers to the region. In Italian the memorial is typically called Sacrario Militare di Asiago or Sacrario Militare del Leiten. Leiten is the name of the hill on which the memorial sits.

Monte Zebio (Italian pronunciation: [ˈmonte dˈdzeːbjo]) is a mountain of the Veneto, Italy. It has an elevation of 1,819 metres (5,968 ft). The mountain was an important stronghold for the Austro-Hungarian defensive line during World War I.

Monte Verena is a mountain of the Veneto, Italy. It has an elevation of 2,015 metres (6,611 ft). A World War I fortress (Forte Verena) is located on its top.

Fort Verena (Italian: Forte Verena) was an Italian fortress built between 1910 and 1914 to defend the Italian border with the Austro-Hungarian Empire (along the border line that can currently be located between the province of Vicenza and Trentino) at an altitude of 2,019 metres (6,624 ft) on the summit of the mountain of the same name. The fortress is located in the municipal territory of Roana, and it overlooks the steep cliffs of the valley below, the Val d'Assa. At 3:55 AM on May 24, 1915, the first two cannon shots were fired from Fort Verena by the Italian forces, marking the entry of the Italian Royal Army into the war. On June 12, 1915, the fortress was hit and destroyed by a 305 mm Skoda shell that penetrated the structure and exploded inside. On May 22, 1916, during the Spring Offensive, the position was captured by Austro-Hungarian troops, who held it for the rest of the war.

Gallio (Cimbrian: Ghèl) is a town in the province of Vicenza, Veneto, Italy. It is on SP76. As of 2007 Gallio had an estimated population of 2,454.The town is home to mountain slopes popular with skiers, and a 70-meter ski jump, which has been used in international ski jumping competitions.

The Asiago-DLR Asteroid Survey (ADAS; obs. code: 209) was an astronomical survey conducted in the early 2000s to search for comets and asteroids, with special emphasis on near-Earth objects. The Minor Planet Center directly credits ADAS with the discovery of more than 200 minor planets after 2001.

Cima Dodici (Italian for "peak 12", in Cimbrian language Freyjoch) is a mountain on the border of Vicenza in Veneto and Trentino in Trentino Alto Adige, northern Italy, south of the village of Borgo Valsugana. It has an elevation of 2,336 metres. and is the highest peak in Vicenza. At 1,874 m prominence, it is an ultra prominent peak. The key col is near the village of Pergine Valsugana.
