Blackhawk-Camino Tassajara is a former census-designated place (CDP) in Contra Costa County, California, near the town of Danville. The unincorporated area consisted of the Blackhawk planned community and the surrounding Camino Tassajara area. At the 2000 census, the CDP's population was 10,048. The CDP was split between Blackhawk and Camino Tassajara before the 2010 census.

The museum is located within the Blackhawk Plaza shopping center and is an affiliate through the Smithsonian Affiliations program. The museum is a subsidiary of a not-for-profit Behring Global Educational Foundation.

The Athenian School is a selective college preparatory and boarding school located in Danville, California, United States. Athenian educates students in grades 6–12 on an approximately 75-acre (300,000 m2) campus at the base of Mt. Diablo, located in the San Francisco Bay Area in Northern California. Athenian was founded by Dyke Brown in 1965. Athenian is composed of roughly 170 students in the middle school (grades 6–8) and 360 students in the high school (9–12), which is also known as the upper school. Tassajara, a variation of the Spanish word "tasajera" (Spanish for "place where the meat is hung" or "meat drier"), is an unincorporated community in Contra Costa County, California, United States. It is located on the east bank of Tassajara Creek, 6.5 miles (10 km) south-southeast of Mount Diablo, at an elevation of 709 feet (216 m). Together with Blackhawk it forms the Blackhawk-Camino Tassajara census designated place (CDP).

Dougherty Valley High School (commonly Dougherty, Dougherty Valley, Dougherty Valley High, DVHS, or DV High) is a public high school located in the Windemere development of San Ramon, California, United States. The valley name comes from James Witt Dougherty, a 19th-century landowner and local politician. It is one of four high schools in the San Ramon Valley Unified School District (SRVUSD), along with California High School, San Ramon Valley High School, and Monte Vista High School. Constructed by Shapell Industries of California and Windemere Ranch Partners BLC, Dougherty was the first developer-built school in the SRVUSD. The school opened its doors in 2007. Dougherty's nickname is the Wildcats, and its school colors are navy, Columbia blue, and silver. It is known for its state-of-the-art campus, which features a performing arts center and aquatics center in a joint-use agreement with the city. Dougherty is the top school in the district based on Academic Performance Index. The school is also home to over 200 clubs and many afterschool activities.

Diablo (Spanish for "Devil") is a census-designated place (CDP) in Contra Costa County, California, United States. The population was 1,158 at the 2010 census. It is located 2.5 miles (4.0 km) east-northeast of Danville.

The Mount Diablo meridian, established in 1851, is a principal meridian extending north and south from its initial point atop Mount Diablo in California at W 121° 54.845. Established under the U.S. Public Land Survey System, it is used to describe lands in most of northern California and all of Nevada. Mount Diablo also marks the baseline at latitude 37°52′54″N.

Mount Diablo is a mountain of the Diablo Range, in Contra Costa County of the eastern San Francisco Bay Area in Northern California. It is south of Clayton and northeast of Danville. It is an isolated upthrust peak of 3,849 feet (1,173 meters), visible from most of the San Francisco Bay Area. Mount Diablo appears from many angles to be a double pyramid and has many subsidiary peaks. The largest and closest is North Peak, the other half of the double pyramid, which is nearly as high in elevation at 3,557 feet (1,084 m), and is about one mile (1.6 kilometers) northeast of the main summit. The mountain is within the boundaries of Mount Diablo State Park, which is administered by California State Parks.
