Vidracco

The Temples of Humankind are a collection of subterranean temples buried 30 metres (100 ft) underground built by the Federation of Damanhur. They are decorated in several motifs stressing peaceful human collaboration. The Temples are located in the foothills of the Alps in northern Italy, 50 kilometres (30 mi) from Turin, in the valley of Valchiusella. The temples were created under the direction of Oberto Airaudi who, having claimed visions of ancient temples at age 10 from a previous life, began excavation and building in August 1978. By 1991 most of the chambers were reportedly complete when Italian police, acting on a tip from villagers, conducted a raid on the Temples. However, since the temples were so well hidden, police were unable to locate them until state prosecutor Bruno Tinti threatened "show us these temples or we will dynamite the entire hillside." Eventually the Italian government reportedly gave them retroactive excavation and erection privileges and the Temples are now open to visitors.

The Federation of Damanhur, often called simply Damanhur, is a commune, ecovillage, and spiritual community situated in the Piedmont region of northern Italy about 50 kilometres (31 mi) north of the city of Turin. It was founded in 1975 by Oberto Airaudi with around 24 followers, and by 2000 the number had grown to 800.Damanhur's supporters claim the growth and activity of the community has revitalized the local area. The Federation of Damanhur has centers in Europe, America, and Japan. Torre Canavese (Piedmontese: La Tor Bèr) is a comune (municipality) in the Metropolitan City of Turin in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 35 kilometres (22 mi) north of Turin. Torre Canavese borders the following municipalities: Castellamonte, Quagliuzzo, Strambinello, Baldissero Canavese, San Martino Canavese, Bairo, and Agliè. Torre Canavese is a city in the province of Torino in Northern Italy. Torre means tower in Italy, in this case, "Torre" refers to the tower on the city's castle. It is located about 40 kilometres (25 mi) from Torino and 14 kilometres (9 mi) from Ivrea. Torre is an agricultural town in which many of the residents grow their own fruits and vegetables. Within the confines of Torre, there is a castle and a Catholic church, the church tower was built by Savino Barello. Each year on Fat Tuesday there is a town gathering at the bar where the citizens gather and eat beans—cooked in a terra cotta pot over an open flame—and soup. The weather ranges from the 90s in the summer to the mid-20s in the winter. Because Torre is located in the Pre-Alps the city can have a few feet of snow in the winter.

Castellamonte is a comune (municipality) in the Metropolitan City of Turin in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 35 kilometres (22 mi) north of Turin. It is located in the Canavese, at the feet of a hill surmounted by a 14th-century castle, hence the name (meaning "Castle at the Mount"). Only traces remain of the latter's original structure, what is visible now dating to an 18th-century renovation. The town is also home to an unfinished rotunda designed by Alessandro Antonelli, the Baroque church of San Rocco; the Sacro Monte di Belmonte is not far, though in the communal territory of Valperga. Architects Carlo and Amedeo di Castellamonte were born in the town.

The park was founded to promote and develop biotechnological research, to host companies operating research and development, and pilot production in the life science sector. Companies such as Merck Serono and Bracco chose the Park as the location for their research and development activities.
