Pollokshields Parish Church

Pollokshields Library is in Leslie Street, central Pollokshields, Glasgow. The plans were prepared by Thomas Gilmour under the supervision of City Engineer and Surveyor, Alexander B. McDonald. The library was officially opened on 20 February 1907 by Sir John Stirling Maxwell. The Edwardian Baroque building is protected as a category B listed building.The area is home to many New Scots, consisting mainly of Sri Lankan, Pakistani and Indian residents. The library holds a good stock of books and magazines in Urdu, as well as English. Regular events are held at the library, including talks by authors, children's activities and reading challenges.

It is located in a former school designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh between 1903 and 1906. The building is one of Glasgow's foremost architectural attractions. Shields Road subway station is a station of Glasgow Subway, serving the Pollokshields and Kingston areas of Glasgow, Scotland. Nearby is Charles Rennie Mackintosh's Scotland Street School Museum. This was one of four (now three) stations which has Park and Ride facilities. The station has been left in an industrial area by post-war reconstruction and is isolated from surrounding areas by the M8 motorway and approach roads for the Kingston Bridge. There were 460,000 passengers in the 12 months to 31 March 2005. These trips were largely generated by the adjacent 'Park & Ride' car park. The car park was rebuilt with over 800 spaces in a project that ended in September 2006. The east end of the car park is closer to the entrance of West Street subway station. The station is actually on Scotland Street, not Shields Road. There has been some consideration of changing its name. Shields Road is one of the stations mentioned in Cliff Hanley's song The Glasgow Underground.

Strathbungo is a mainly residential area of southern Glasgow, Scotland, bordered by the neighbourhoods of Crossmyloof to the south, Govanhill to the east and Pollokshields to the north and west. The settlement grew up as a small isolated village built along the Pollokshaws Road, one of the main arteries leading southwards from the centre of Glasgow (today part of the A77 road), adjoined by the Camphill Estate, now part of Queens Park. Strathbungo lay just inside Govan parish, on its boundary with Cathcart parish, and at one time a line just north of Allison Street and Nithsdale Street formed the boundary or 'march' between the counties of Lanark and Renfrew. The feudal superiors, the Maxwells of Pollok, preferred the name Marchtown. This name is seen on some old maps, and survives in March Street.

Tramway is a contemporary visual and performing arts venue located in the Scottish city of Glasgow. Based in a former tram depot in the Pollokshields area of the South Side, it consists of two performance spaces and two galleries, as well as offering facilities for community and artistic projects. The Hidden Gardens is situated behind Tramway. The new extension to Tramway is the home of the Scottish Ballet, and is claimed to be one of the leading venues of its type in Europe.

Hutchesons' Grammar School is an independent day school for boys and girls aged 3–18 in Glasgow, Scotland. It was founded as Hutchesons' Boys' Grammar School by George Hutcheson and Thomas Hutcheson in 1641. Prospective pupils must sit an entrance test and interview to gain admission. The Boys' and Girls' schools amalgamated in 1976, at the grounds where the Boys' school had moved to almost two decades prior to form the current senior school. The Girls' school campus became the junior school and in 1994, a new pre-school block at the junior school was constructed. The school now has around 1,300 pupils across its Pre-school, Junior and Senior Schools. In 2019, the school had the second-highest exam results in Scotland.The School is governed by Hutchesons' Educational Trust. The Rector is Colin Gambles.
