Rack Hill

Castle Combe is a village and civil parish within the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Wiltshire, England. The village is around 5 miles (8 km) north-west of Chippenham. A castle once stood in the area, but was demolished centuries ago. The village is in two parts: one is in the narrow valley of By Brook, while Upper Castle Combe is on higher land to the east, on the B4039 road connecting Chippenham and Chipping Sodbury. No new houses have been built in the historic area since about 1600. South of the upper village is the Castle Combe motor racing circuit.

Ford is a small village in the north-west of Wiltshire, England. The village is on the A420 road, 4 miles west of Chippenham and 11 miles east of Bristol. Ford is the second largest village in the civil parish of North Wraxall, a collection of five settlements which includes Upper Wraxall, North Wraxall, The Shoe (also on the A420) and Mountain Bower. There is a pub called the White Hart, but no other shops. The Bybrook River flows through the village. A church of St John was designed by C.E. Ponting in 1896 and converted into a residence in 2001.

Out Woods (grid reference ST833763) is a 14.3 hectare biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Wiltshire, notified in 1975. It is an ancient Ash-Maple woodland noted for containing rare species of ground flora.

West Yatton Down (grid reference ST852760) is a 14.4 hectare biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Wiltshire, notified in 1971. The site is an example of unimproved limestone grassland. Among the more notable plants species are bastard-toadflax (Thesium humifusum), Dyer's greenweed (Genista tinctoria), and musk orchid (Herminium monorchis). Other species present include yellow-wort (Blackstonia perfoliata), kidney vetch (Anthyllis vulneraria), devil's-bit scabious (Succisa pratensis), bee orchid (Ophrys apifera), tor-grass (Brachypodium pinnatum) and upright brome (Bromus erectus). The site is also of interest for invertebrates. Twenty-five butterfly species have been recorded, including chalkhill blue, Duke of Burgundy, pearl-bordered fritillary and green hairstreak.

Castle Combe Castle stood to the north of the village of Castle Combe, Wiltshire, England. The castle was a medieval motte and bailey castle standing on a limestone spur overlooking the Bybrook River. It was probably built by Reginald de Dunstanville, 1st Earl of Cornwall in the 12th century and was unusual in that it had a keep with at least four and possibly five baileys. Earthworks and some stonework remain. Since 1981 the site has been a scheduled ancient monument and is described in the National Heritage List for England as "Motte and bailey castle 600 meters north of Castle Combe".

Nettleton Mill is a mill house in Wiltshire, England, on the banks of the Bybrook River, to the south-east of Nettleton. Part of the Castle Combe estate, it was built in 1774 as a farmhouse; this date is inscribed on the outer building. The old ruined farmhouse was refurbished in the early 1990s and has been converted into a bed and breakfast cottage.
