Sugiez railway station

Bas-Vully (Arpitan: Bâs-Vulyi) is a former municipality in the district of See in the canton of Fribourg in Switzerland. On 1 January 2016 the former municipalities of Bas-Vully and Haut-Vully merged to form Mont-Vully.

Grand Marais (German: Grosses Moos) in Seeland is a region in Switzerland, at the foot of the first mountain range of the Jura Mountains contained by the three lakes of Morat (Murten), Neuchâtel and Bienne (Biel). Before the huge hydrological works Jura water correction, it was a marshland that covered 62.5 km2 (24.1 sq mi). Before the correction the entire Grand Marais, along with the whole of Seeland was prone to very severe recurring floods. After the Jura water correction, the former marshland has become very valuable agricultural land and made the whole area the most important region in Switzerland for growing vegetables. The main town and centre of vegetable trading is Müntschemier. There are two prisons with surrounding agricultural compounds: Bellechasse (Witzwil) and St. Johannsen.

Müntschemier (French: Monsmier) is a municipality in the Seeland administrative district in the canton of Bern in Switzerland.

Mont Vully (653 m; in German also known as Wistenlacherberg) is a hill of the Swiss Plateau, located between Lake Morat and Lake Neuchâtel in the canton of Fribourg, east of the border with the canton of Vaud. The south side, overlooking Murten and its lake, is covered by vineyards. The north side, overlooking Lake Neuchâtel, is mostly wooded.

Muntelier-Löwenberg railway station (German: Bahnhof Muntelier-Löwenberg, French: Gare de Muntelier-Löwenberg) is a railway station in the municipality of Murten, in the Swiss canton of Fribourg. It is located at the northern junction of the standard gauge Fribourg–Ins and Palézieux–Lyss lines of Swiss Federal Railways. It takes its name from the nearby municipality of Muntelier.

The Battle of Morat was a battle in the Burgundian Wars (1474–1477) that was fought on 22 June 1476 between Charles the Bold, the Duke of Burgundy, and a Swiss Confederate army at Morat (Murten), about 30 kilometres from Bern. The result was a crushing defeat for the Burgundians at the hands of the Swiss.

Löwenberg Castle or Château de la Motte is a castle in the municipality of Murten of the Canton of Fribourg in Switzerland. It is a Swiss heritage site of national significance.

Galmiz (former French name: Charmey) is a former municipality in the district of See in the canton of Fribourg in Switzerland. On 1 January 2022 the former municipalities of Galmiz, Gempenach and Clavaleyres (Canton of Bern) merged into the municipality of Murten.

The Evangelical Reformed Church of the Canton Freiburg is a cantonal Reformed state church in Fribourg. In 2004 it had 16 parishes and 38,000 members, served by 35 ministers. It was officially organised in 1530, the official languages are French and German. From the parishes 3 are dual languages, 5 are French and 8 are German language worship. In 1530 Murten, Kerzers, Motier, Meyriez, Ferenbalm converted to the Reformed faith. The other parts of freiburg stayed Catholic. In 1854 the Reformed church planted more congregations. In the 19th century Reformed churches and schools was planted. In 2001 in Romont-Chatel-St. Denis was divided into 2 separate parishes. Women ordination is allowed.

Müntschemier railway station (German: Bahnhof Müntschemier) is a railway station in the municipality of Müntschemier, in the Swiss canton of Bern. It is an intermediate stop on the standard gauge Bern–Neuchâtel line of BLS AG.
