The River Bourne is a river in the English county of Wiltshire, a tributary of the Salisbury Avon. It flows in a generally southerly direction for about 48 km (30 miles). In its upper reaches the river is a winterbourne, often dry in summer.The Bourne's source is at the eastern end of the Vale of Pewsey, just south of the village of Burbage. The river cuts through the chalk escarpment at Collingbourne Kingston, to flow south across Salisbury Plain through the town of Tidworth and the village of Shipton Bellinger. As it continues south the river passes the Bourne Valley villages: Cholderton, Newton Tony, Allington, Boscombe, Idmiston, Porton, Gomeldon, Winterbourne Gunner, Winterbourne Dauntsey, Winterbourne Earls and Hurdcott. After passing Ford and Laverstock, the Bourne joins the Avon in the eastern outskirts of Salisbury.

The Church of St Martin, also known as Sarum St Martin, is a Church of England parish church in Salisbury, Wiltshire, England. The church dates from the 13th century and is a Grade I listed building.

Milford railway station was the first railway station to be built in the city of Salisbury, Wiltshire, England, in 1847. The Bishopstoke to Salisbury line approached from the south-east, and terminated in the Milford area of the city by the Church of St Martin. In 1859, passenger services were transferred away to the newer station located at Fisherton (now the main station in Salisbury), with Milford retained as a goods depot until the 1960s.

Salisbury Grey Friary was a friary in Wiltshire, England between the 1230s and 1538. The Franciscan Grey Friars came to England in 1224, and by 1230 Henry III was providing building materials for their church at St Ann Street, Salisbury, which may have been founded at the instigation of Richard Poore (bishop of Salisbury 1217–1228). Little is known of its later history until the institution was surrendered during the dissolution in October 1538, when its financial value was found to be low. No visible traces remain of the buildings.The 17th-century house called The Priory, a short distance away at 95 Brown Street, may be on a site connected with the monastery.

Little Woodbury is the name of an Iron Age archaeological site in Britford parish, near Salisbury in the English county of Wiltshire. The site, which is just north of Salisbury District Hospital, is a scheduled monument.The site lies about 1+1⁄4 miles (2.0 km) south of the centre of Salisbury and 1 mile (1.6 km) north of Odstock village, at grid reference SU149279. It was partially excavated in 1938 and 1939 by Gerhard Bersu. In excavations like Little Woodbury he introduced the revolutionary approaches in the excavation of settlements (e.g. the identification of timber post remains) developed in continental Europe during previous decades.

St Osmund's Church is a Roman Catholic church in Salisbury, Wiltshire, England. It was designed by Augustus Pugin in the Gothic Revival style and built in 1847–1848. It is on Exeter Street, next to Bishop Wordsworth's School, in the city centre. It is a Grade II listed building.

Salisbury railway station is an interchange between the West of England Main Line and the Wessex Main Line. Stonehenge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is 8 miles (13 kilometres) northwest of Salisbury.
