Akasaka Estate

Akasaka Palace (赤坂離宮, Akasaka Rikyū), or the State Guest House (迎賓館, Geihinkan), is one of the two state guest houses of the Government of Japan. The other state guesthouse is the Kyoto State Guest House. The palace was originally built as the Imperial Palace for the Crown Prince (東宮御所, Tōgū Gosho) in 1909. Today the palace is designated by the Government of Japan as an official accommodation for visiting state dignitaries. Located in the Moto-Akasaka, Minato, Tokyo, the building took on its present function in 1974, having previously been an imperial detached palace. In 2009 the palace was designated as a National Treasure of Japan.

In Japan, the Tōgū Palace (東宮, Tōgū, lit. "East Palace") traditionally does not refer to a single location, but to any residence of the Imperial Crown prince. As Prince Akishino, the current heir presumptive, is not a direct male descendant to the Emperor and not an Imperial Crown Prince himself, there is currently no Tōgū Palace in Japan and there will not be one until there is another Imperial Crown prince.

Moto-Akasaka (元赤坂) is a district in Tokyo, and a part of the Minato ward.

The Embassy of Canada to Japan is the main diplomatic mission from Canada to Japan, located in Tokyo. The embassy is Canada's third oldest "foreign" legation after Paris and Washington, D.C. (the High Commissions to other Commonwealth states are not considered "foreign" by the Canadian government). The reason for the legation's creation had much to do with anti-Asian feeling in the Canadian province of British Columbia during the first half of the 20th century. Prime Minister Mackenzie King was anxious to limit Japanese migration to Canada, saying "our only effective way to deal with the Japanese question is to have our own Minister in Japan to vise passports."The British government was hesitant to anything that might be seen to undermine Imperial unity, but finally in May 1929, the Canadian legation opened. The first "minister" was Sir Herbert Marler. The embassy soon added trade and political roles to immigration. Construction of the chancery was completed in 1934. In 1938 the minister came back to Canada without being replaced. In 1941 once Canada and Japan were at war the legation staff was placed under arrest and not repatriated to Canada until mid-1942. After the war, Canada's leading Japan expert, Herbert Norman, instead of being minister to Japan was attached to represent Canada with Supreme Commander Allied Powers, General Douglas MacArthur. In 1952 Canada and Japan had normalized relations and the legation was upgraded to an embassy, and R.W. Mayhew became Canada's first ambassador to Japan. Canada built a new chancery on Aoyama Avenue, Place Canada, which was designed by Raymond Moriyama and opened in 1991. The embassy is housed on the upper levels while the lower levels are let out for rental income. There is a stone garden at the fourth storey with a view of the Akasaka Palace gardens. At the basement level the embassy hosts a public art gallery, a library, and the 233-seat Oscar Peterson Theatre. The elevator in the ambassador's house is the oldest functional one in Japan.

Akasaka (赤坂) is a residential and commercial district of Minato, Tokyo, Japan, located west of the government center in Nagatachō and north of the Roppongi district. Akasaka (including the neighboring area of Aoyama) was a ward of Tokyo City from 1878 to 1947, and maintains a branch office of the Minato City government.

Yamawaki Gakuen Junior College (山脇学園短期大学, Yamawaki Gakuen Tanki Daigaku) was a private junior college for women located in Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan. The school closed in March 2011.

It features a sky lounge on the 36–37th floors, a rooftop terrace, and underground parking.The building is located in central Tokyo next to Aoyama-dori and the Akasaka Imperial Grounds with Akasaka Palace and Togu Palace, and within 10 minutes walk of Tokyo Metro stations Aoyama-itchōme, Akasaka, Akasaka-mitsuke, Nagatachō, Kokkai-gijidō-mae and Tameike-Sannō, with access to Ginza Line, Hanzōmon Line, Marunouchi Line, Yūrakuchō Line, Chiyoda Line, Namboku Line and the Toei Ōedo Line.

Aoyama-itchōme Station (青山一丁目駅, Aoyama-itchōme-eki) is a subway station in Minato, Tokyo, Japan operated by Tokyo Metro and Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Transportation (Toei).

The Hotel New Otani Tokyo is a large hotel located in Tokyo, Japan operated by New Otani Hotels and opened in 1964. The hotel currently has 1,479 rooms and 39 restaurants. It has hosted numerous heads of state and is home to a 400-year-old garden.

Kioichō (紀尾井町) is a district located in Chiyoda, Tokyo. Once a samurai town, the name of the district is a portmandeau derived from the names of the Kii clan, the Owari clan, and the Ii clan, all of whom had residences there during the Edo era. The Hotel New Otani Tokyo, Sophia University, Yahoo! Corporation, and Shimizudani Park are located within the district.

The St. Ignatius Church (Japanese: 聖イグナチオ教会) is a Catholic church located in Kōjimachi district of Tokyo, Japan. Also known as the Kōjimachi Catholic Church, it was established with its current name on April 17, 1949, and is dedicated to Saint Ignatius of Loyola. The dedication ceremony was offered by Archbishop Peter Tatsuo Doi. The church is affiliated with the Jesuit Sophia University and it is located near Yotsuya Station.
