Wimberley is a village in Hays County, Texas, United States. It is still predominantly a ranching area outside of town. The population was 2,839 at the 2020 census.

The Winters–Wimberley House is a historic home in Wimberley, Texas that was built c. 1856. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.The property has 5 acres (2.0 ha) out of an original 34-acre (14 ha) mill site property obtained in 1856 by William C. Winters (1809–1864) near Glendale trading post (which later became Wimberley). Winters built a mill and a house, connected by a wagon path which eventually became Ranch Road 12, a busy county highway that eventually split the property.The mill was later owned by a Wimberley.

Wimberley High School is a public high school located in Wimberley, Texas (USA). It is part of the Wimberley Independent School District located in northwestern Hays County and classified as a 4A school by the UIL. In 2015, the school was rated "Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency.

Woodcreek is a city in Hays County, Texas, United States. Like its neighbor of Wimberley, Woodcreek is a primarily a retirement community. The population was 1,457 at the 2010 census.

The Heart of Texas Wildlife Trail is a state-designated system of trails and wildlife sanctuaries in Central Texas in the United States. It is one of the four major wildlife trail systems designated by the State of Texas. The trail system is divided into two main groupings of wildlife viewing sites. The first stretches from the Coleman area, near Abilene, through Austin and San Antonio, to Laredo. The second is a cluster in the Texas Hill Country and southwest Rio Grande Valley bounded roughly by San Angelo, Del Rio, and Fredericksburg.

The Freeman Center is a 3,485-acre (1,410 ha) plot of land between San Marcos and Wimberley, Texas. It was founded in 1941 by weekend ranchers Harold M. "Harry" Freeman and his brother Joe. The Freeman Center houses the Texas State University Forensic Anthropology Center's body farm, where the deceased are used to study the various stages of body decomposition and their effects on the soil.

San Marcos Academy or SMA (also known as San Marcos Baptist Academy or SMBA) is a private, coeducational, college preparatory Christian school that is affiliated with the Baptist General Convention of Texas. It is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the Texas Association of Boarding Schools. The academy was founded in 1907; its mission is to educate young men and women within a nurturing community based upon Christian values. The academy accepts boarding students in grades 6–12 and day students in grades K-12. Enrollment in 2009 was 274, with about 75% in the residence program. The school is located in the Texas Hill Country in San Marcos, Texas, United States, south of Austin, and north of San Antonio. San Marcos Academy is one of the oldest boarding schools in the state of Texas, and was established in 1907 by Texas Baptists with the support of the city of San Marcos. The academy's first president was James Milton Carroll. The academy has students matriculate at a wide range of colleges and universities.
