Wellington Park, Tasmania

Mount Wellington (officially kunanyi / Mount Wellington ()) is a mountain in the southeast of Tasmania, Australia. It is the summit of the Wellington Range and is within Wellington Park reserve. Hobart, Tasmania's capital city, is located at the foot of the mountain. The mountain rises to 1,271 metres (4,170 ft) above sea level and is frequently covered by snow, sometimes even in summer, and the lower slopes are thickly forested, but crisscrossed by many walking tracks and a few fire trails. There is also a sealed narrow road to the summit, about 22 kilometres (14 mi) from Hobart central business district. An enclosed lookout near the summit has views of the city below and to the east, the Derwent estuary, and also glimpses of the World Heritage Area nearly 100 kilometres (62 mi) west. From Hobart, the most distinctive feature of Mount Wellington is the cliff of dolerite columns known as the Organ Pipes.

The Division of Denison was an Australian electoral division in Tasmania, before being replaced by the Division of Clark as part of a 2016–17 redistribution.

The Division of Clark is an Australian Electoral Division in the state of Tasmania, first contested at the 2019 federal election.

The electoral division of Clark is one of the five electorates in the Tasmanian House of Assembly, it is located in Hobart on the western shore of the River Derwent and includes the suburbs below Mount Wellington. Clark is named after Andrew Inglis Clark, a Tasmanian jurist who was the principal author of the Australian Constitution. The electorate shares its name and boundaries with the federal division of Clark. The electorate was renamed from the electoral division of Denison in September 2018. Denison was named after Sir William Denison, who was Lieutenant Governor of Van Diemen's Land (1847–55), and Governor of New South Wales (1855–61). The renaming of the electorate to Clark was in line with the renaming of the federal division of Denison to Clark. Clark and the other House of Assembly electoral divisions are each represented by five members elected under the Hare-Clark electoral system (also named after Andrew Inglis Clark).

Cathedral Rock is a towering dolerite rock formation located in Wellington Park in south-eastern Tasmania.Reaching a height of approximately 880 metres and accessed through a challenging walk, the craggy summit offers expansive views of southern Tasmania, particularly the Huon Valley and the Channel region.Cathedral Rock is a popular destination for recreational hikers and nature lovers. The closest township is Neika and the usual starting point for the walk to the peak is Betts Road on the North West Bay River. During winter months, Cathedral Rock is frequently snow-covered. Cathedral Rock is part of Wellington Park and is reserved under the Wellington Park Act 1993. It is managed by the Wellington Park Management Trust, together with the City Councils of Glenorchy and Hobart, the Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service and Southern Water. Wellington Park takes its name from Mount Wellington, named after Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington, who defeated Napoleon in the Battle of Waterloo. Wellington Park is reserved for the purposes of: "the provision of tourism and recreation; the protection of flora and fauna; the preservation of features of natural beauty or scenic interest; the protection of features of historical, Aboriginal, archaeological, scientific or geomorphological interest; and the protection of water catchment values".

The electoral division of Elwick is one of the 15 electoral divisions in the Tasmanian Legislative Council. The division covers most of the municipality of Glenorchy. The total area of the division is 98.37 square kilometres (37.98 sq mi).As of 31 January 2019, there were 24,010 enrolled voters in the division. The current member in the member in the Legislative Council is Josh Willie who was elected in 2016. The next election in the division of Elwick is due in May 2022.

Fern Tree is a rural / residential locality in the local government areas (LGA) of Hobart (64%) and Kingborough (36%) in the Hobart LGA region of Tasmania. The locality is about 9 kilometres (5.6 mi) south-west of the town of Hobart. The 2016 census recorded a population of 726 for the state suburb of Fern Tree.It is an outlying suburb of Hobart. The name Fern Tree is adapted from the common name of the plant Dicksonia antarctica (Tasmanian tree fern), which grows abundantly in the area. Set beneath Mount Wellington, whose summit is at 1270 metres above sea level, Fern Tree is 9 km by road from Hobart's central business district.

Neika is a rural locality in the local government areas (LGA) of Hobart and Kingborough in the Hobart LGA region of Tasmania. The locality is about 20 kilometres (12 mi) south-west of the city of Hobart. The 2016 census recorded a population of 198 for the state suburb of Neika. It is a suburb of Hobart, to the north-west of Kingston.

Tolosa Park is a park in Glenorchy, Tasmania. It contains a dam and water reservoir which was built in the 1890s and used by TasWater until 2017.Tolosa Park also hosts outdoor concerts, and was the venue for the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra's Symphony Under the Stars until 2018.

Wellington Park is the protected area which encompasses kunanyi / Mount Wellington and surrounds near Hobart, Tasmania. There are numerous hiking and mountain bike tracks within the park of varying difficulty.

The electoral division of Hobart is one of the 15 electoral divisions in the Tasmanian Legislative Council. It was originally created in 1856 when the Council became the upper house of the Parliament of Tasmania. The seat was abolished in 1999 and re-created in 2008 after a redistribution saw the former division of Wellington returned to its former name. The total area of the division is 62.29 square kilometres (24.05 sq mi), which covers the Hobart city centre and the suburbs of Battery Point, Dynnyrne, Fern Tree, Glebe, Lenah Valley, Mount Stuart, New Town, North Hobart, Ridgeway, South Hobart, and West Hobart. As of 31 January 2019, there were 24,007 enrolled electors in the division.Since 2012, the member in the Legislative Council has been Independent MLC Rob Valentine, who was the Lord Mayor of Hobart from 1999 to 2011. The next election in the division is due in May 2018.

Glenorchy City Council (or City of Glenorchy) is a local government body in Tasmania, and one of the five municipalities that constitutes the Greater Hobart Area. The Glenorchy local government area has a population of 50,411, covering the suburbs north of central Hobart on the western shore of the Derwent River, including its namesake suburb, Glenorchy.
