Usatove (Ukrainian: Усатове) is a village in Ukraine, in the Odesa Raion of Odesa Oblast. It hosts the administration of Usatove rural hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. The population is 7,925 people. Until 18 July 2020, Usatove belonged to Biliaivka Raion. The raion was abolished in July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Odesa Oblast to seven. The area of Biliaivka Raion was merged into Odesa Raion.

Khlibodarske (Ukrainian: Хлібодарське; Russian: Хлебодарское) is a rural settlement in Odesa Raion, Odesa Oblast, Ukraine. It is essentially a western suburb of the city of Odesa. Khlibodarske belongs to Avanhard settlement hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Population: 2,555 (2022 estimate).

It belongs to Usatove rural hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine, and is one of 15 villages in the hromada. It has a population of 914. Until 18 July 2020, Naberezhne belonged to Biliaivka Raion. The raion was abolished in July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Odesa Oblast to seven. The area of Biliaivka Raion was merged into Odesa Raion.

Avanhard (Ukrainian: Авангард, Russian: Авангард) is an urban-type settlement in Odesa Raion of Odesa Oblast in Ukraine. It is a western suburb of the city of Odesa and is adjacent to the city. Avanhard hosts the administration of Avanhard settlement hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Population: 7,435 (2022 est.)Until 18 July 2020, Avanhard belonged to Ovidiopol Raion. The raion was abolished in July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Odesa Oblast to seven. The area of Ovidiopol Raion was split between Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi and Odesa Raions, with Avanhard being transferred to Odesa Raion.

The statue of Darth Vader (Ukrainian: Статуя Дарта Вейдера, romanized: Statuya Darta Veydera) is a plaster and titanium alloy statue in Odesa, Ukraine, depicting the character of Darth Vader from the Star Wars franchise. Originally a reinforced plaster statue of Vladimir Lenin, the sculpture was modified in 2015 by artist Alexander Milov as part of the process of decommunization in Ukraine.

Lativka (Ukrainian:Латівка) is a village in, Odesa Raion, Odesa Oblast, Ukraine. It belongs to Usatove rural hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine, and is one of 15 villages of the hromada. Lativka has a population of 1954 (As of 2001 population census). It is one of four villages in the hromada which had a former name.Until 18 July 2020, Lativka belonged to Biliaivka Raion. The area of Biliaivka Raion was merged into Odesa Raion.

National University "Odesa Maritime Academy" (Ukrainian: Національний університет «Одеська морська академія») is a maritime university in Odesa, Ukraine. Currently, the main task of the university is to ensure the competitiveness of graduates in the Ukrainian and world labor markets, by training seafarers while taking into account the most demanding claims of leading shipowners. Since Ukrainian independence, the university opened new specialties and created a network of separate structural units, in particular in the cities of Mariupol and Izmail . The staff is working to improve the organization and content of the educational process. NU "OMA" has a modern material and technical base, with modern naval simulators, a large library, and a unique training and sailing vessel called "Druzhba". The university also has the conditions for physical culture and sports: an Olympic-class swimming pool, a sports gym, sports sections and a water station at the disposal of cadets and students.

Moldavanka is a historical part of Odesa in the Odesa Oblast (province) of southern Ukraine, located jointly in Malynovskyi and Prymorskyi city districts. Before 1820 it was a settlement just outside Odesa, which later engulfed it. Until the 20th century the neighborhood was considered a low-income/high-crime part of the town and was famous for its workers' shacks.

During the southern Ukraine offensive of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the city of Odesa and the surrounding region have been the target of shelling and air strikes by Russian forces on multiple occasions since the conflict began, fired in part by Russian warships situated offshore in the Black Sea. The city has also been targeted by Russian cruise missiles.
