The Central Coast is a peri-urban region lying on the Pacific Ocean in northern-eastern New South Wales, Australia. The region is situated north of Sydney, which is filled with subtropical national parks, forests and also encompasses the major coastal waterways of Brisbane Water, Tuggerah Lakes and southern Lake Macquarie. The region's hinterland, which has fertile valleys, rural farmland and wineries, and also includes the Watagan Mountains. The Central Coast is known for its regional coastal towns like Terrigal, The Entrance, Ettalong Beach, Budgewoi and Bateau Bay with resorts and holiday parks, which feature many expansive beaches and lagoons with surfing and coastal tracks, as well as scenic views. Gosford is the main commercial hub and gateway. The Central Coast includes major localities, villages and towns such as Gosford, Wyong, Terrigal, Woy Woy and The Entrance, the area is the third-largest urban area in New South Wales and the ninth-largest urban area in Australia. Geographically, the Central Coast is generally considered to include the region bounded by the Hawkesbury River in the south, the Watagan Mountains in the west and the southern end of Lake Macquarie, lying on the Sydney basin.

Central Mangrove is a locality within the Central Coast region of New South Wales, Australia. It is about 81 kilometres (50 mi) north of Sydney. The locality is located within the Central Coast Council local government area. The town is situated at the crossroads of Wisemans Ferry Road and George Downes Drive, and contains a primary school, a 9-hole golf course, country club and health centre.

Peats Ridge is a suburb in the Central Coast region of New South Wales, Australia, as part of the Central Coast Council local government area. Peats Ridge was opened to white settlement relatively late, as the Great North Road to the Hunter Valley left from Spencer on the Hawkesbury River, effectively bypassing the area until the early part of the 20th century. The area is named for George Peat. A number of fine aboriginal rock carvings survive in Peats Ridge. Formerly an area with many citrus orchards and market gardens, the improved access to Sydney through the Sydney-Newcastle Freeway has meant that it has increasingly become the home of commuters with jobs in Sydney. There are a number of nurseries and horse studs in the district.

Kulnura () is a rural suburb of the Central Coast region of New South Wales, Australia. It is located north of Mangrove Mountain along the George Downes Drive. Kulnura is located within the Central Coast Council local government area. Kulnura's name is an Aboriginal word meaning "in sight of the sea" or "up in the clouds", it was named in 1914 by a meeting of the early pioneers Messrs Archibold, Collins, Gatley, Penn, Young, Williams and Gibson. Its population of approximately 600 people rely mostly on the town's fruit and cattle industries for income, however many commute to regional hubs such as Gosford and Wyong and other areas of the Central Coast. It is also home to the biggest water supply catchment area on the Central Coast, Mangrove Creek Dam which has a capacity of 190 000 ML, and has a free tourist kiosk on the site. "Mangrove Mountain Bottlers Pty Ltd" bottle still water at their plant at Kulnura, as well as for private label mass-retailers, such as 7–11. Another one of Kulnura's attractions is the Paintball Place, which holds paintball skirmishes for people over 16.

The Mooney Mooney Creek, a perennial river that is part of the Hawkesbury-Nepean catchment, is located in the Central Coast region of New South Wales, Australia.

Somersby is a semi-rural locality of the Central Coast region of New South Wales, Australia, to the northwest of Gosford along the Pacific Highway. It is part of the Central Coast Council local government area. Somersby includes sections of the Brisbane Water National Park, within which Somersby Falls are located, as well as the Mount Penang Parklands which are used as a festival and exhibition centre. The Woolshed Function Centre, Australian Reptile Park, a small industrial area near the Kariong Interchange, two juvenile justice centres, and a primary school are features of Somersby. Old Sydney Town, now defunct, was a popular tourist destination in Somersby.

St Barnabas Anglican Church is a heritage-listed former Anglican church located at Yarramalong Road, Yarramalong, in the Central Coast, New South Wales, Australia. It was built from 1889 by volunteer labour under supervision of James Bailey. The property is owned by the Central Coast Council. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999.

Yarramalong (cedar country) is a township and suburb of the Central Coast region of New South Wales, Australia, located 20 kilometres (12 mi) upstream from Wyong along the Wyong River. It is part of the Central Coast Council local government area. The Yarramalong township has: Rural Fire Station, two cemeteries, public school (which closed down recently and is now used for community purposes), general store/petrol station, bottle shop/guest house and a hall which was originally an art hall but is now also used for community purposes. Busways now only operates a school bus service between Yarramalong and Wyong. It was acquired from Yarramalong Bus Lines in 2008.Yarramalong Valley is the home of many horse studs, turf farms, citrus crops as well as a macadamia nut farm and a lavender farm. The Great North Walk also passes through Yarramalong to Cedar Brush Creek to the north and Kulnura.

Palm Grove is a suburb of the Central Coast region of New South Wales, Australia. It is located about 10 kilometres (6 mi) upstream along Ourimbah Creek from the town of Ourimbah. It is part of the Central Coast Council local government area.

Calga Aboriginal Cultural Landscape is a heritage-listed site at Peats Ridge Road, Calga, Central Coast Council, New South Wales, Australia. It is also known as Calga Aboriginal Women's Site and Calga Aboriginal Sites. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 1 October 2019.

Somersby Airfield (ICAO: YSMB, IATA: GOS) is an airfield located in Somersby, New South Wales, Australia. It is 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) by road from the nearby city of Gosford. It is the sole aerodrome in Somersby, and does not serve scheduled commercial traffic. The airfield is operated by Somersby Airfield Pty Ltd.

Australia Walkabout Wildlife Park is a wildlife sanctuary located in Calga, New South Wales, Australia. The wildlife park is home to Australian native birds, mammals and reptiles as well as farm animals. It offers research and education programs, with visitors able to undertake day and night tours. The park is home to a wide range of Australian animals and in 2021 became home to a group of meerkats, the park's first exotic animals.
